  • Made the missus see Manics instead of Kasabian at V Festival 07 and they were the loudest band I've heard, especially when they done this for first time in a few years, best band I've seen by far

  • awsome. sends a shiver down my spine. reminds me of being at the front moshing, sweating, red hod , knackered, surfing, pissed and the best times of my life. wow.

  • Thank-you, Richey Manic, for this song.

  • a song to die for

  • i still find it fasinating how james wrote this song on the first album, he was what? 19 at the time, this song is so mature and accomplished.

  • @Staff777 dont forget the lyrics were written by Richie and Nick, so give the whole band credit. A cracking track from a superb debut album

  • @Staff777 Give Richie and Nick credit for the lyrics. A cracking track from a superb debut album

  • @merseybeast76 if you can tell me what the lyrics are about it would help :P

  • @Staff777 Not sure about anyone else but to me it's a song about modern society and culture: "Culture sucks down words, itemise loathing and feed yourself smiles, organise your safe tribal war, hurt, maim, kill and enslave the ghetto." and he talks about "This wonderful world of purchase power." which is basically what we live in. "Drive away and it's the same, everywhere death row, everyone's a victim." - it's the same everywhere, so even if you speed away on a motorcycle, you'll remain empty.

  • I was also there! A great evening and superb way to welcome in the new year and decade
