@rudybeatskcazm7 For starters, no M4 lower is available for civilians, as it was manufactured after 1986. I think my cue was the fixed carry handle, whereas the M4 has a railed, flat top upper for mounting optics.
@csmybuttt well i have an M4 lower and you are wrong about the carry handle not all m4's have a flat top you obviously dont know what you are talking about
@rudybeatskcazm7 Actually, the M4 is just a variation of the M16, introduced in 1994. Since 1994 is after 1986, civilian ownership of genuine M4 lowers is prohibited, save for dealers. Yes, all M4s have a railed top, detachable carry handle, 14.5 inch barrel, and 5 or 6-position telescoping stock. Yes, ALL M4's have a flat top. If you replace the upper, it's no longer an M4.
@rudybeatskcazm7 Yep. All M4's are select fire by definition. Therefore, if you don't have select fire, you don't have an M4. In any case, select fire AR-15 lowers run at least $13K.
@csmybuttt ok mr gun expert all i know is that i bought a bushmaster m4 carbine which probably means m4 lower and there is no way in hell a lower would go for 13k
@rudybeatskcazm7 Well, it's not equal to the military M4. It's just Bushmaster's way of selling their AR-15 lowers. Ever since the term "M4" has lost copyright, firearm manufacturers took the chance. Even if your Bushmaster says, "M4", it would be proper to refer it to as "AR-15". $13K? You find that hard to believe? It's true, unfortunately. Try googling "select fire ar-15 lower" and see for yourself. I can also tell you why, if you ask.
@rudybeatskcazm7 Actually, there is. Sure it functions the same from the outside, but the internals are different. For example, select-fire M16 bolt carriers are different from AR-15 ones. The lower is different as well, so that even if you do get a select fire trigger pack (the expensive part, the key to unlocking full-auto goodness), it wouldn't fit readily in a civilian AR. This is all done so that converting a semi-only to full auto is difficult.
@rudybeatskcazm7 On an AR, uppers aren't as regulated. For all I know, uppers are considered as mere accessories and can be bought without much government bs. The lower is the firing portion, so it would be the part that would be registered, if it was select-fire. You're posting contradicting information, so I'm just going to take the latest comment as truth. You are a 15-year old owner of a Bushmaster AR with a mil-spec upper.
@rudybeatskcazm7 Yep, but not a M4 though. I'd consider you fortunate, as I live in an area where you need a permit for pretty much any firearm, and it's illegal to have a toy that resembles a real gun. Props if you can guess where I am. Answer is on my channel, but c'mon, give it a guess or two. Next year, I'll probably need a permit for a Super Soaker.
Not an M4.

rudybeatskcazm7 1 year ago
@rudybeatskcazm7 So you got a select-fire, post-86 M4 lower for $200? I call bullshit, unless you're not a typical civilian gun owner.
csmybuttt 1 year ago
@csmybuttt but i that still doesnt change the fact that i have a m4 lower :P
rudybeatskcazm7 1 year ago
@rudybeatskcazm7 Do you really? Is it select fire? How much was it?
csmybuttt 1 year ago
@csmybuttt it does not have a select fire but that doesnt mean its not an m4 lower and it was about 200
