  • Hi Karen! I'm really looking forward to trying this. What herbs do you like to add into it?

  • @missbaileyonthedaily Italian herbs mix or fresh coriander.

  • i do NOT believe u r 38 as it says on your profile. if u r i need to get raw immediately!

  • @zaia3957 I was 35 when this one was filmed...

  • @karenknowler thx for the link, i've downloaded couple of your pdf-files, much appreciated:)

  • Delicious Karen, as always!

  • the sweetest, sexiest raw food chef on the planet!!!!

  • put the leeks in the water!!!

  • since insects are not part of a vegan diet, do you have a way you recommend of cleaning broccoli or other greens to make sure insects seen and unseen are gone? Thanks!

  • @YoJewMama They should be anyway by whoever has produced the produce but you should be washing produce anyway.

  • I would add crumbled cheese to that!

  • So do we let it soak *in* the fridge or out of it? Sorry, I was unclear on that.

  • @BriarConnor Both : )

  • This is great Karen - you're right! Great alternative for all those veggies rather than steaming ;o)

  • This was my lunch today. I was skeptical of raw leeks, but wow, they were good! I used cauliflower, grape tomatoes, leeks and broccoli. I didn't have a zucchini on hand, but I look forward to making it with them :)

  • Thank you so much for this! :)

  • Ive been trying raw smoothies in the morning. I just made a green smoothie this morning and it made me feel sick. I put in kale, water, strawberry's, frozen bananas, goji berries, maca powder, and kiwi. I think it is the maca that makes me feel nauseous. I really cant stand the taste. Is there any way to mask it? I really like how energized i feel from it. I only put in about a teaspoon total, to split between my boyfriend and myself.

  • try putting less in, and instead of the strawberries try blueberries and blackberries.

  • Interesting you say that because twice this month I had a green smoothie and put in Maca and chlorella and I was sick at work (never done that before!). I was suspecting it was the Maca but not sure. Now that you have mentioned it too, I'm going to leave it out as I do love having my smoothies in the morning but being ill at work is very inconvenient.

  • you're hot! but also...good job on the videos...

  • she's VERY hot :). i don't think it's disrespectful to acknowledge that and someone has to say it. and yea, vids are helpful too

  • Thanks for a great recipe!!!

  • she sure DOES, amazing

  • I am, just two times over : )

  • wow. how long you been raw? i like this recipe. Astrologically gemini and virgo people look younger than their age.

  • Into raw for 15 years, since 1993. And I'm a libran :)

  • @karenknowler ha...I read your reply quick.....I thought you said you were a, "librarian"

  • Karen, I have a mulberry tree bursting with fruit. (It's about 50' tall!). What kind of dessert can I make with these beauties...or anyone reading this. Thanks.

  • I've never tried to become raw because raw food has always made me feel cold (don't even know why). But I need a change in the way I eat, and you just made this look so yummy that I'm definitely trying this recipe (and probably some other ones too). Thank you, Karen.

  • Looks great Karen. You are performing a great service for humanity.

    Keep it up. :)

  • Brocholi and calliflower should not be eaten raw. And I can't spell.

Should steam, to liberate the nutrients, . .

    or juice them.

  • They are great eaten raw! Our teeth are what should be liberating the nutrients : ) Sure, they are good steamed too, but I am not sure where the "should not" comes from; only if people have weak digestion.

  • Gary,

What harm can raw broccoli do?

  • GaryNull I'm familiar with problems

    burping was convincing enough for me, then goitrogen concerns which can be deactivated by the steam sample but also mild fermentation. I clicked thinking this would be closest to what I do, opening ingredients enough to tenderize each other under some immersion (i.e. Perrier or coconut water from husk) if not enough moisture between meal items. there's change for digestion frequently within day, max two. {air drying florets on slats optional too for me!}

  • I have done marinated potatoes but silly me I have never done the conventional vegetables this way, gotta try this! thank u!!!! :)

  • yum looks healthy!!! i think im gona try it i love veggggiesssssssssss!

  • mmm looks very yummy karen. thank YOU again!
