@Olivijad This is not true at all. I'm the Sr. Deacon, and Past Master of my Lodge. The master mason (3rd degree) is the highest. In the Scots (an appendant body) a 32nd degree isn't any more powerful than a 3rd. Its not a ranking. Ask me anything you want.

I am a mason, and I have talked to Mormon missionaries about Smith and Young's involvement with masonry. It was immediately clear to me that they had been instructed to downplay and disassociate these men with masonry. Likewise, masons are not proud of, and do not like to speak of Smith. You have to approach this with an Open Heart and with your Spirit. Man is God's creation, as is everything else. God has everything to do with Man, even if some men seem to reject their Maker.
Religion is our attempt to get closer to God, through MISinterpretation, and traditions of Men.. Jesus Christ is God's answer to our search for Redemption and Truth.
As far as I know, God made three things which are self evident and are quite logical.
The individual
The Family
The Real World
His principles are observable when correct methods are used and actually work in contrast to methods that don't work because of their lack of principle.

I am an Active Temple endowed Mormon and Master Mason in Salt Lake City. The history of the LDS church and Masonry are intertwined which I view it as positive as do many of the LDS Masons in my lodge. Masonry is not a religion, but a fraternity with a wealth of information. I enjoy it because I love to learn. I believe that the LDS Temple ceremony was revealed to Joseph Smith by revelation and that it is true. In my view, it's very different from the Masonic ceremonies, having been through both!

The survivors at Nauvoo returned to Masonry after they were largely trapped behind.
They were expelled from Masonry by the Southern Illinois Chapter for admitting women to the lowest two levels. I have never believed that the temple rituals were given ex-nihilo. There was much available on this subject while Leonard Arrington was Church Historian, as there was on Joseph Smith's wives and what they said about life in Nauvoo. They were well known in Early Salt Lake.

I am a mason, and I have talked to Mormon missionaries about Smith and Young's involvement with masonry. It was immediately clear to me that they had been instructed to downplay and disassociate these men with masonry. Likewise, masons are not proud of, and do not like to speak of Smith. I have seen Mormon ritual and there is absolutely no doubt that it is nearly all directly lifted from masonry. To have done this while being a mason, Smith broke DOZENS of sacred oaths, hence the hard feelings.

i was raised in both the mormon and roman catholic churches. i have been to the mormon temple many times as a youngster, it is quite a place. some of the rituals that take place definitely seem to be masonic in origin now that i look back with a basic understanding of such things. some people suggest that Joseph Smith was assassinated because he revealed the "secrets" of masonry through the mormon temple rituals...i no longer demonize masons but i am still suspicious of "secret societies"

I think there isn't wrong with freemasonry. I think that a lot of fear of the unknown is the reason why people revile against the Masons as well as Joseph Smith being one has also been mis-judged. I know a Mason. He's a great man and his integrity rivals that of most other men I am in contact with.

It's the Rothschild/Rockefeller model where they donate to build public incredulity.
The two names above have "donated" millions and some were to real charities, but this does NOT erase their evil as they'd like.
When one gets caught they hold up their volunteer works as a sort of shield; works great and is very old idea.

What can one profit from studying paganism? Egypt was a pagan nation. Solomon turned the temple into a pagan temple, so the Lord destroyed it. The Lord instructs us not to study the "mysteries" they are pagan.. The signs of freemasonry come straight from ancient Egypt. I am a lifelong student, M.S and will not go near it.. I was married in the Mormon temple and was traumatized and did not return for 5 years, reluctantly because of social pressure.

Yes, i wholeheartedly agree. Charity should come from a willing heart, NOT our Government. What we do here and now in our present bodies does determine how we spend eternity with God in the next life with our New bodies. but make no mistake, our Spirits WILL go somewhere. and God DOES know the Hearts and Faith of Men, But don't confuse earthly principles with Spiritual ones. Christ came to FREE us of sin FIRST, Obedience is important, but so is Love and Faith too. it is WHY we are obedient.

You have to approach this with an Open Heart and with your Spirit. Man is God's creation, as is everything else. God has everything to do with Man, even if some men seem to reject their Maker.

Well, they are not exactly the same, of course, but, for example, they both use secret handshakes--called "grips" by both groups--and I do not know of any other Christian, quasi-Christian or Judeo-Christian group that uses secret handshakes. I am an Active Temple endowed Mormon and Master Mason in Salt Lake City. The history of the LDS church and Masonry are intertwined which I view it as positive as do many of the LDS Masons in my lodge. Masonry is not a religion, but a fraternity with a wealth of information. I enjoy it because I love to learn. I believe that the LDS Temple ceremony was revealed to Joseph Smith by revelation and that it is true. In my view, it's very different from the Masonic ceremonies, having been through both!
