If the Harmon Hotel (Elvis banner) is demolished then the view from the Cosmopolitan will improve!

The Harmon Hotel never passed inspection for an occupancy permit and may be the first hotel in Vegas to be built and imploded without having been opened. Cosmo should pay for that corner of City Center and put in a low-rise structure or a parking garage!

The only architectural features remotely medieval on the Aria are the notched ends for the Corner Suites, a great way to enjoy more of the view. There is no use of embrasure, merlon or jettying and only hints of parapets and crenellation. No half-timber construction, battlements, naves or transepts.

Eurotrash modern top-to-bottom, cold, expensive and uninviting. There is nothing about the character and ambiance of City Center that is intimate or to scale with normal human interaction.

The Boardwalk was one. Given how far back the Aria is from the Strip there was probably only car parking and miscellaneous other structures that were cleared. It would be interesting to see what the City Center's footprint looked like 10 or 15 years ago though.

what resort did the aria replace? i can't remember to save my life. i did not visit vegas for 2 years and went back and there it was..lol it's cool but at 12 at night it was bright as hell in there..lol

at 0:06 you can see how bad a job the architects did. none of the buildings come together like they were build seperately by different companies, they have allmost nothing in common, looks like crap

Nice place but sort of a jumble of buildigs and not very exciting looking except for the two buildings that tilt. I'm sorry but Vegas for me is the uber themed resorts like Paris, Venetian, Luxor etc. Ever since they built the ho-hum Wynn nobody seems to have much imagination anymore, just big glass and steel things. What's the draw?

Slightly creepy :). Put the presentation together very quickly so it will eventually change through YT's Audio Swop.

After filming the project two years in succession I'm looking forward to visiting the finished product in 2010. Not completely sold on the style and design. Only time will tell if it's a success, but IMHO it would help if the casino was directly on LV Boulevard and not set 300 yards back in the Aria.
