I couldn't watch this one...because I have an ingrown toenail. My doctor didn't think it was very serious a few months ago. Just the other day I did one of the most stupid things I've ever done. I picked at the nail and removed a little piece to give my toe some comfort. Now it hurts twice as much! Now I have to get the procedure done. If I can stay awake and not pass out, I'll video the mini surgery.

I can't believe how foolish I was.

You're trimming your toenails way too short. When they grow out, the corner jams against the corner and gets infected. Hard to explain but trim your nails straight across and leave some hanging over slightly as it grows out. I had your problem before I went to a podiatrist and he clued me in. It has never happened again.

I would get that removed asap. I just had one removed and my toe feels so much better. Plus if you leave it like that for months the nail could get down to the bone and infect it. At that point say bye bye to your big toe. It sucks that I only have half a toe nail right now but its better than losing my big toe.

Gotta say your right. Although i'd only have the bed removed if you have had the nail removed before and it has still grown back ingrowing. Only problem with having the bed removed is that once the local anaesthetic has worn off you have to endure the most excruciating pain ever!!! I know, i haven't got any nails on my big toes anymore after having that exact procedure done as a teen.

Have to say though, I haven't had any troubles since. :)

Get it done but get ready for a rough ride.
