this game is actually very good the graphics are miles better than this shows gameplay is good and shots are realistic. only problem is after about 10 mins gameplay i could hit boundaries off most balls on hard
The ashes on the wii has such mixed reviews i dont know if to get it or not can any one give any advice also is there any online play for the Wii. Overall is it a good cricket game and is it fun.
lisen evry1 i first thought this game was gnna be crap wen i saw dis video but wen i acually got the game it was wicked the graphics are better then brian lara and the gameplay is brilliant as u see the person battin in this vid has a arrow so it looks lyk u hav 2 put the arrow first well lise peepl u dnt need to u can jus swing in the area u want and thers a shot played by u also the ashes on the wii is very fun it is interativ as u can talk to umpire b4 u bat nd captain nd comentry changes
geez cricket games havnt come far since the 90's. whens a developer going to step up and make a true to life fast flowing game? theres gotta be a huge market out there.
I don't know if anyone has replied yet so sorry if they have. Basically you point the remote at a ball on the wicket, which triggers the aim, so you aim and press A. Then the run-up starts, you can either hold A again for a slower ball or B for a faster one, (or A&B for a perfect ball if you've bowled 3 good ones in a row - there's a timing bar). When your bowler approaches you swing the remote down and tilt it which way you want the ball to swing, if you do. That's about it.
Basically mate, you would not necessarily need to point it downwards like a bat, but you don't press a button to time it. The time is in the swing of the remote, holding A down while swinging does a defensive nudge, B does an attacking shot, hope this helps. Also, you can hold down on the d-pad when the bowler is in the run-up and aim the remote at the screen for your shot direction if you want. It's pretty cool.
if u read earlier comments i say that as the bowlers running up you aim where to hit then u use the remote like a bat harder and better timing = better place shot and vice berca
Yes you do use the wii mote as a bat, you use the d-pad to place shots and use the bat to play the shot making sure you time it. If you do not time it it will go as far and you could top edge the ball etc.
the main england team on the game includes: strauus cook pieterson collingwood prior flintoff andersson broad swann and panesar 12th man onions (this is the england ashes test match part) it may change in 20/20

They're not bad, actually! It can sometimes seem like it does a lot of the work for you but you've got control of where you're hitting the ball and it's timing based. There's also a confidence thing for each batsman, so if you bowl well it gets harder for them to hit it!
Ashes are Aus vs Eng

greatdevil88 2 years ago
lol, I'm playing Brian Lara Internation Cricket 2007 on the PC...and this Wii game is almost identical...Except for the fact BL2007 is WAY better...
I mean, I watched this vid, and he didn't even seem to HIT the ball and it flew for 6...
Even the commentary is identical...
And the bowler seems to "waggle" down the run up...
Same controls too...
Nah, me not gonna get the Wii game...lol...Ah well...
