except for muscle cars gm was crap but im not talking of their recent vehicules like malibu equinox and stuff but recent dodge cars are shits....oh yeah gm pickups still have electrical problems today
my family's been for GM for 3 generations. My grandfather bought 1Ford truck and it was a piece of junk, so he switched to GMC. My dad was a Chevy guy and uncle was a Pontiac guy. My mom had 1 Mazda and it sucked, so she bought a Challenger R/T( it gets 28 mpg btw, asshole Prius lovers) I'm hardcore Chevy all the way. I was hardcore muscle too until last year when I had to sell my 86 Monte SS cause of gas. Now I got a 01 Monte SS and love it too. And I still got my Camaro Z28 to have fun with :)
only one word to describe people like you your a fuckin idiot the stats say otherwise ford sells more trucks then anyone must be a rreason i seen chev and pontiac trucks lmao make sure ya have about 700.00 for a fuel pump lol they go alot on those lmao
you're a fucking idiot with no reading comprehension. it was ONE truck that he owned, and it sucked. One truck is not going to show up on a statistic, good or bad. Even with all my family's GM cars, there not going to even be a blip on a national survey. So you can go look at all the stats you want. I got personal experience that tells me Ford sucks and GMs good. So stop trying to get into internet fights, cause you're just making yourself look like a retard
I like the newer cars GM is building, certainly an improvement in quality, They still need to work on customer service and back up there waranties though!
Hi iam papermache2131........Iam not for GM Canada, iam not in support for using my tax dollars to keep a bunch of lazy union fucking assholes in big paying jobs, iam not for using my tax dollars to prop up your pensions, iam not for Gm and thier fucking garbage that they produce.Iam for Toyota and Honda who build a world class environmentally friendly product, have environmentally friendly plants and do not use my tax dollars.
your for the asian environmentally friendly products? so your are probably a huge fan of the one power plant a week that china opens up to pollute the shit outta the ozone layer. way to go!
i see your point 100% and i dont support the 2 years layoff pay or the benefits they get after they lose their jobs but gm does make good cars. look at buick, just passed lexus for the number one spot in reliability and they are also the number one sold car in china.
North Americian built Asian products yes.Iam not talking about China's coal power plants? The fact is the Asain automakers came to North America 20 odd years ago and surpassed the Detriot three. The Woodstock Toyota plant is the worlds most enviromentaly freindly plant in the world.
nothing exciting in chevrolet? how do you explain the new ZR1? How do you explain the 14,000+ pre-sales FOR the Camaro? I think those are pretty exciting cars not to mention the other ones like the HHR SS which sales REALLY well and the Cobalt SS and the Traverse, Tahoe and Malibu.
yea in their slide down hill they fell all the way down to the number 2 selling car manufacturer in the world. Check the numbers man. They havent been number one for 4 whole months now.
I was for GM, now im back for GM. After a lemon import car i decided to try domestic again. Well people its true they have improved and I suggest you give GM an opportunity again. They are building quality cars and trucks that can compete with the best the world has to offer. GO GM!!!!
im for GM. but. they died in 1996. once they got the rid of the third gen camaro and trans am. they went downhill. and they were finished when they ended production of the C4 corvette.
you don't like the late 4th gen T/As? I'm more of a Camaro guy myself, but if I couldn't get a 98-02 SS I'd def get a WS6 Trans Am. That double bubble hood with the hideaways looked badass. Real shamePontiac's done
i can't afford a new GM at the moment, so I drive a Buick Century 2000 (i just turned 18). But i know one day i'll get a good job and afford myself a brand new Pontiac, Buick, or else. I'll have a company and get GMCs for deliveries, and i'll be so rich. I'll brign back Oldsmobile to life... thats my dream.
gm is the best company in the world without them u would still be riding a hoarse to work everyday. they make the most dependable automobiles on the road and it is proven because buick was just named the most dependable automobile in the world. also toyota who everyone thinks is so dependable had the highest recal rate of any manufacturer EVER but ur all right there the most dependable by far.
i love gm, my favorite automaker, but at least toyota fixes a problem when it becomes known instead of waiting till 2009 to recall a bunch of cars from 1997-2003. if gm would've made recalls alot earlier i'd still have my regal gs. its cool tho i will have another and i dont hold any animosity toward gm.
The Recall never said any engine fires have happened, but they want to take precautions. The engine itself is very strong and built solid. we have a 2001 GP and it has 300K miles on it. Never gave us any problems, and we've had it since new. Toyota has tons of recalls from when they recalled over 1million vehicles because the steering column could crack, to when they recalled 1.35 million vehicles because the airbags could fail to deploy. There is much more but keep in mind I have a word limit.
on the new recall no but the supercharged 3800 series II there were. my 97 regal gs burned up back in 07'. i just sold my 01 GP. i like the 3800, good motors. they should've done this a while ago though.
People that claim GM doesn't make fuel efficient vehicles need to wake up and actually do a little research and compare GM gas mileage with the imports. IE: the Honda Ridgeline V6 4WD gets 1mpg more than 4WD V8 Avalanche. The Cobalt XFE GETS BETTER MILEAGE than a Honda Civic! There's plenty of other examples. This ridiculous cynical public perception needs to stop. Also, the industrial world NEEDS powerful trucks. Does Toyota they make a 1-ton Prius Pickup?
For everyone who is hating on the Big Three (in particular GM) right now, know this...The Big Three use many of the same parts suppliers as Honda/Toyota/Nissan. If they go down the parts suppliers will be hurt and many of them will go down too. Then the Japanese brands are screwed as well. Watch CNBC, the Japanese brands want the Big Three to stay alive.
Makes no sense. Other manufactures like Ford and Toyota will buy more parts keeping them in business. When GM files for bankruptcy, the other car makers will pick up that business. Lets face it: GM does not make fuel efficient and good looking cars.
We cannot blame GM`s union workers for this mess, not can we blame their pensioners. Asking middle class people to cut the wages in half, to give up benifits and pensions is wrong. GM has flooded the market with cars, SUVs, and trucks. Honestly, how many of the same car or SUV with a different name does GM think that we want to buy? If GM`s workers were paid half as much, GM would be in the same situation that they are now.
What you fail to understand is that corporate greed, unions, bad work ethics and failure to create quality products makes it very hard for those of us without vested interests and rational thinking to be "for GM" like you all are.
I buy japanese not because I hate american cars on principle, but because japanese cars last 10 years while the american ones break down in the first year.
Stop cutting costs to make investors wealthy and I would buy one and be proud of it.
This is the best you can put together at HQs!!! More job cuts coming to an office / plant near you...Get ready HQs for your pink slip. Corona official beer of Rick Wagoner and General Motors, Come down to Mexico and join Rick for a drink.
The funds could be used either for downsizing and or plant idling(laying people off) or consumer incentives(rebates, discounts, special offers), which would put plants back into production. A third option would be some mix of the two. It doesn't make sense to me to ask the taxpayers for money to idle plants.
I would prefer to see an industry wide government rebate plan, which would directly benefit purchasers of new automobiles. Others have suggested consumer guaranteed loans.
The GM plant in St. Catharines was given 250million I think 2 years ago, and they're still talking about shutting down.
What people want are QUALITY PRODUCTS!!! I don't care how many awards you've won, what I know is american cars break down within the first year, while japanese cars you can kick the snot out of them for 10 and they continue to last.
When they get back to basics, do some real R&D and make real cars again, I would LOVE to own a Chevy. I grew up with them!
Go look at the new Chevy Malibu or Impala. You will very impressed with the quality of these two award winners. Not to mention how much you get for your money.
The G.M plant in St.Catharines was'nt givin a dime... They were promised new work 3 years ago and still have not gotten a thing. As for your japanese junk they break down too. I have a 2000 GMC sonoma that has only needed plugs and wires changed and regular oil changes and 9 years later still going strong with no problems at all.
I have a question, what about the 2012/2013 model year do you guys feel the same or still feel that everything is A ok, because I want my Regal GS :)

who gives a shit about the plant. with all the chrysler and gm plants closing down it wouldn't matter if it is the most eco friendly.
it doesnt matter what new car you buy. if you maintain it on time regularly and dont treat your car like a german concubine it'll last a long time.

Of course you'd get citizens from Oshawa to say good things. If it wasn't for the GM plant in Oshawa it'd be a ghost town.

I watched "who killed the electric car" here on youtube and I'm curious.
1. Is GM planning on just leasing the volt like they did with the ev1, and destroying them afterwards?
2. How come in 1998(when the ev1 was released) the ev1 could travel 120miles on a single charge and the volt only does 40?
3. Why is there a dead link on the gm canada website when someone wants to know more about the volt?
thanks
