  • The seatbelt is (almost) completely irrelevant in regard to traditional 3-5 o'clock carry styles. Students are always surprised at how much of a non-issue being belted in is.

I carry AIWB most of the time and the seatbelt CAN be an issue there. Many people with full size guns AIWB SAY that they take a second to actually stage the grip above the seatbelt (tucking the seatbelt behind the gun, against the body)... I carry compact guns and don't bother...

  • I'm very curious to hear Rob's opinion on AIWB. Trying to get full extension and avoiding the steering wheel look like great tips. I'm surprised carry options aren't mentioned when the seat belt is brought up. If I'm in the car and it's running my belt is on... Very rare I don't have my seat belt on. AIWB solves a lot of those issues.

  • that's a great idea, thanks

  • Well done. I learned the over the wheel move from Clint in '94, first time I did vehicle work. I like the parallel to the thighs move. *thumbs up*

  • Any tips on shooting through glass?

  • i agree about the gun glide over the steering wheel, great survival move.

  • -- Great stuff!

  • Cool Idea about over the wheel, never thought of that.
