  • whats the name of the song for the end of the trailer cuz it wicked lol

  • @mastergiovanni321 "Night on Bald Mountain"

  • awesome commercial!

  • I have to say, this was scary for a disney commercial.

  • too bad the dragon does not look and move like the one in this video.

  • Thats freakin' wickedly awesome!

  • i LOVE THIS COMMERCIAL

  • I know I'm 9 months too late, but for the person that was wondering: the boy in the commercial was on "Flight 29 Down," as well as other shows and movies.

  • This is actually a little frightening.

  • How can I make it stop laggin!?

  • At least the dragon is up and running now. 3 months of no-shows got annoying after a while.

  • You went for three months?

  • @chad2CCC I went a few times during those months, but not a straight three months.

  • Grrr...

It should have Sleeping Beauty's Castle...

As a Disneyland fanatic I say, grrrrrr!

    jk :P

  • I was looking at the castle again and I noticed it's a mixture of all of them. REALLY look at it :D

  • I don't really think so....

I looked hard at it and all I saw were two of the Disney castles. Mainly Florida's Cinderella's Castle and the spire off to the left is from Euro Disney's Castle, also Cinderella's. (Technically, I think the Florida and Tokyo castles are virtually the same model.)

What element of Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle did you see?

I just think a Disneyland commercial should have Disneyland's Original Castle. Don't you?

  • @DisneyMagicDreamer85

Look at the bottom of the castle. There's a piece of it right there.

  • You're saying that the bottom tier is from the Disneyland castle, right?

    Well...

After examining a the end of this vid, next to a pic of SB castle at Disneyland and a pic of Cindy's castle at DisneyWorld...

I guess it's more reminiscent of SB castle... also the entire castle is pink and blue whereas Cindy's is blue and white...

idk I still think they should use the right castle for the right park... but I'm a true Disneyland lover. I can't help it. ; )

  • It has Cinderella castle in the end because that is "The Disney Castle". In old Disney movies, they showed Sleeping Beauty Castle, but now they show Cinderella Castle because it is more majestic than SB

  • He looks like he would play an awesome Finn Whittman in the KK movie. But why do I feel I've seen him before?

  • they really need to make a KK movie!

  • @anaheimrocker if you really look at the castle it shows different parts of all the castles around the world

  • You're right, I see the DLP spire and Disneyland's pink/blue paint scheme.

  • Only mice chatters call it Murphy

  • I have no idea why the caslte is on the island, and I also have no idea why they used Cinderella Castle at the end.

  • I TOLD ya!! Odd, indeed.....

  • Uh-oh...wait...can anyone spot the visual contradiction from 00:25 till the end of this spot, which is a very cool ad, but....hmmm....

  • Comment removed

  • who's the little guy? i feel like i've seen him in a movie before...

  • 3 months of errors and waiting were well worth seeing the new dragon. :)

  • WOW

  • Hey, wait! I just went there yesterday and saw Fantasmic. Was that the real dragon?! I thought that was the stand-in (if there was one), but it was amazing anyway! :D

  • THE DRAGON SHOWED UP ! :DDDD

  • FANTASMIC DRAGON TO DEBUT TONIGHT 09/01!!!

Disney has officially announced that brand new, 45 ft. tall, fully audio-animatronic, fire-breathing Fantasmic dragon (aka Murphy) is going to premiere TONIGHT at the 8:15pm performance!

    THIS IS NOT SPAM!!!

Be sure to take this with caution, because like always, everything is subject to change, but for now, the dragon will officially debut TONIGHT!

So, APs, grab your tickets and get your butts to Disneyland for the new dragon's debut!

  • Dragon is premiering this Monday at the resort at a special time.

    8:15pm

Stoked to see what it will look like!

  • That's for the public. There will be a special conference at 5am tommarow morning for the press to show off the new dragon.

  • is it maleificent?

  • Yes it's Maleficent

  • Everybody including a few good sources are saying it's debuting this friday. Also photos have been leaked of the dragon during broad daylight. It's very impressive!!!!!

  • Just get it working already

  • Al Lutz from Mice Age (he is the closest Disneyland source that gives true information) revealed today that Murphy (the name Crew members give to the dragon) that it has gone through the steps and if there's no delay, it will have a chance of rising this week and Mickey will probably finally kill a dragon!

  • No one at DL calls it Murphy. Only micechatters do.

  • The people working on the dragon call it Murphy too. In fact, they were the ones that gave it the name after the incident that caused the dragon miss the entire Summer Nightastic period.

  • So you must work there to know this then.

  • Well, I don't work there yet. But I do know Cast members that work there that keeps me updated on things.

  • I was at the Disneyland last night and me and a friend asked and they said that they are trying to get it up for the Holidays. Now this is just something we heard while at the parks we are not completly sure if its correct or not.

  • My dad said there is a 40 percentent chance that they will premire it during winter season but they want to premeire during the halloween season for that scary dragon effect.

  • Hi i am the son of the pyro controller for fantasmic and the truth is that it was completed 4 days before nightastic and they do not even know hot to progam a sequence for the dragon during the show. So they are working on a new film that will be played before the dragon rises so that the slow rising 10,000 pound dragon will be in que. The old footage for the screens before the dragon gave it only 50 seconds to rises making it only halfway for the full dragon to be on stage.

  • So wrong it hurts

  • Yes, it did.

Big deal. It was fixed. It was supposed to be tested last night at the 11:30 show but was cut at the last second.

  • No it didn't. where'd you even hear that? that was just a web rumor

  • i agree with avejajed - i am and employee who works guest control for fantasmic and we honestly have no idea when we will get our dragon - and we want it as much as you all do!

  • Will the dragon be there by September 2nd?!?!?! D: That's the day I'm going for my 3rd Summer Fun Pass day.

  • Still waiting for it...

  • August 14 - 16 will be it's premiere. Testing and programming has been completed.

  • Believe it or not, forums on Mice chat and other sites have stated that Disney Officials are pushing back the dragon's premiere even longer. So it hasn't been the past two nights, and doubtfully, it won't be tonight the 16th either. I'm just as disappointed as everyone else :(

  • I was there on the 16th and there was no dragon -__-

  • uh please let august 16 be the day !!

  • I'll tell you right now, even employees don't know what's up with the Dragon or when the Dragon will return. It's a complicated piece of imagineering and I hear different things every day. Hopefully soon, but still the show is amazing even without it.

  • what song is that

  • august 16

  • Dragon, please? :( I bought the Summer Fun Pass, and all I've seen so far are lines, lines, lines, and more lines. No big, re-Imagined dragon. Guest Relations told me the Dragon was sick with the Dragon Flu.

  • OMG, that was pretty awesome! :)

  • I went a few weeks ago, there was a dragon. It was giant and really cool. Idk if this is something new because it says newly re-imagined but as far as I know that may have been it because you are all talking about a dragon. There was one and it spit fire out of its mouth and i was really impressed. I hadnt heard anything of fantasmic until i went that day and it was great.

  • That's not exactly anyone's fault. The dragon had a technical difficulty, big whoop.

  • where were you? we're talking about the dragon at disneyland in california

  • I not sure it will be that long but I know where your coming from, I've got my sources as well. I have hopes that it will be up before the summer ends, but if not the Fantasmic they have now is still as awe inspiring.

  • Here's the message I got today:

"I asked one of the stage managers about the return of the dragon, and he said "I dunno. Two weeks?" As he said this, another stage manager walked by, and said, "October?"

    so there you go."

  • Thanks, I'll keep it in mind, I have an annual pass so I keep trying to see it!!!

  • I doubt you actually have an "insider source"

  • I only worked there for years, and still have friends in the show.

    Doubt all you want.

  • hmm what do you know.

    2 days and nothing.

  • What are you waiting for? There won't be anything until December.

Boy, won't you be upset when the dragon doesn't show up until Christmas...

  • Stop trying to spread false rumors.

  • OMG that boy looks so familar!!!!!!!!!! What's he from?!

  • he should've brought a keyblade with him into the forest.

  • Maleficent? :] I like her.

  • And my "Dragon will be on soon enough" was for emphasis, not yelling.

  • I just took pictures of an electronic billboard right ourside Universal Studios today and they are STILL using the dragon on that. It's ELECTRONIC. How hard is it to take the dragon out, considering it switches to another ad for Disney WITHOUT the dragon.

  • Comment removed

  • all caps implies extreme emphasis or anger. You wrote the initial message in all caps. And wow...apparantly you're trying to get to me..."You must like me"...thats not going to stop me from trying to get you to calm down.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow! what an awesome TV spot!!!!! Hope the dragon liiks like that for real!

  • It isn't. At all.

  • so... she has glow in the dark boogers? i never got that. sure it looks cool and all but. how does a nose glow?

  • im going to disney next week!!! i cant wait.

  • chances are it won't be there

  • Cant wait till the dragon premiers next week ----thats right I said it ---its ready---MUHAHAHA they are just making sure they have worked out the bugs. So the dragon wont screw its inner workings like it did at a dress rehearsal before Fantasmics return in June. Cant wait to see it! It will be on view anywhere from Monday the 13th through that week lets see when they get it up. HECK YES! Then you can bet this commercial will be running on TV full fledge!

  • Comment removed

  • why does his nose glow?

  • 'cause it looks cool!!!

  • her nose it's maleficent

  • i love that!!!!!!!!

  • wow :o i just read what ofelixdacat said and idk if it is true i never been to disneyland or anything disney it sounds like i never want to go there now >:o

  • Actually Walt is the one who make the facial hair rule.

  • Actually Walt is the one who make the facial hair rule.

  • its wings are to small o-o

  • it's not a rip off at all. If it was, there wouldn't be 40,000 guests everyday.

  • i like disney but really over priced.

i go only wit their discounts.

i mean how much do u think DCA should be worth?

I say around $45 per day. since it's smaller.

Bugs land is a cheap version of Fantasyland.

I am doing the DL year pass with the monthly payments. and I got the $70 bday card. so dats a really good deal.

  • I have a year pass but paid it all at once. I go about every month so it's already paid for itself. The discounts you get with it are cool too. And you get invited to a lot of special events just for annual passholders. So I think you should totally get one :)

  • Most creative ad spot from the Disney parks side of the business in a long, long time. Good job Disney. Now, hope the dragon shows up for real soon. I hear sometime this month.

  • It's NOT a rip off. It's only expensive because of the quality of the rides and entertainment you can only find at Disney Parks.

  • well DCA is a rip off. I think it's really worth like $45 since everything is under construction

    and low budget.

I mean Tokyo Sea looks like it had more money to it.

  • Oriental Land Co., the company who owns Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea, was very willing to lay out as much money as possible to make DisneySea the best they could do.

DCA will be well worth the money in a few years once everything is completed.

  • kwl

  • Of course I'm being sarcastic.

  • Thank goodness! Ya scared me there for a while! ;D

  • dido O_O

  • It's only the internet. Calm Down.

  • COOL!

    Can't Wait!

  • Woah that's cool!

  • Look will Everyone Just Get Over it the dragon had a problem they are Sorting it Out Jeez

  • My thoughts exactly!

  • oh calm down. Its not like they're never going to put it in. They've had some technical problems, thats all.

  • Are you being sarcastic? Dreams can come true if you believe hard enough! ;D

  • Of course I'm being sarcastic!

  • Comment removed

  • Cool

  • JEEEZZZ!!!! You people need to calm down! o.O

I have one question to ask, if anyone would like to answer: To those who don't like Disney because of what they have done in the past or present, has that make you stop believing in hopes, dreams, and true happiness in the real world?

  • No, it hasn't.

  • not at freakin' all

  • I work for Disney and I love every moment about it!

They do ask for alot from Cast Members, but chin stubble is a little unkept looking. Not any different than police wearing uniforms or fireman wearing the right stuff.

  • Wow... harsh...

  • The dragon is still coming, problems happen. So no it's not false advertising, because a NEW dragon is coming. It doesn't say when in the commercial.

  • remember, nothing is perfect. and that goes for disney parks to. there is no need to start wars over delays or any other technical problem (it's all apart of life anyway). just accept it and move on. hakuna mata.

  • What about Disneyland's opening day (un-finished Tomorrowland)? What about the broken-down Abraham Lincoln at the World's Fair? Failure (at first) is a part of the Disney legacy, and it would not be nearly as great as it is today if they weren't willing to fail as hard as they did. It's when Disney plays it safe that they don't get the results.

It's not how you start, it's where you finish.

  • cool. will they do the same for Disneyworld?

  • ok im commenting again cause well, i look and see what people are writeing on here. Each failure brings them closer to exceeding. i mean Wasn't it walt disney who aid "keep moving forward". Dineyland has had some oher big dissapointments before, for example the day it opened, it was a Hot summer day, the cement was melting cause it was still new, they ran out of water, and most of the rides broke down. People didnt think Walt could do it, and i know walt died, but his dream and ideas live on.

  • May be so but Walt also didn't premiere things if they weren't ready.

Friday was disappointing for a lot of people. It was added injury that crowd control was a mess.

Let's just hope it can all be pulled together soon.

  • Well yeah of course walt didn't premiere attractions or things like that iff they werent ready. But stuff happens during performances too. i know im sorry i sound like a person who wants to start a fight on comments. (which i stupid). =P im just giving my opinion.

  • Disneyland i love you, but you failed miserably!

    Electrical parade - Delayed

Magical fireworks - Dumbo was missing

Fantasmic - Dragonless and it was packed with people.

Lets hope the problems are fixed soon!

  • How Delayed was the parade?

  • wait where'd you watch the magical fireworks, if it was at where fantasmic was, you were suppose to be at the castle, don't worry it happened to me too, it doesn't matter though cuz i mean you could have went to watch magical first then go watch fantasmic at the 10:30 show

  • the NEW dragon has been canceled. THE HEAD FEEL OFF AND EXPLODED.

    THE DRAGON is NO MORE.

  • that is not true , Disney has released that they will delay the opening but that is not the reason.

  • What?! Where did you hear that?

  • Actually, it's been confirmed that Fantasmic will still open on the scheduled date, it's just that the dragon won't be joining with the cast yet until a little while later. But the new crocodile, and Flotsam and Jetsam are going to be in the show.

  • Comment removed

  • Wow that's the best Disneyland Resort commericial i've seen! I hope the dragon would look like that in the Fantasmic show

  • Best Disneyland commercial I've seen in a long time.

  • Too bad they are advertising something they don't even have.

  • I agree that is so not fair. We should get more than or at least they can update both shows right?

  • Ha Disneyland Commercial with Walt Disney World Castle!!!!!!!

  • That was the Disneyland castle.

  • Oh, you probably meant the one at the very end. It's lame how they show that one sometimes.

  • no that was the d-land castle at the end bc it was pink and blue, not white like the mk one

  • its the Walt Disney World and Disneyland castle combines with each other.

  • hmmm, I know for sure it is not Disneyland's Sleeping Beauty Castle, because Disneyland's isn't that big. The person above could be right with it being a combination of The Magic Kingdoms castle along with Disneyland's castle.

  • That's been the Disney Parks logo for about 3 years.

  • NOT FAIR!!!!! Disneyland gets an updated Fantasmic and WDW's has it showings cut in half!!!!!!

  • Well disneylands is better.

When im in magic kingdom it sux to think that i have to drive far away just to see fantasmic.

  • maybe disneyland's testing it, and world will later have it

  • WDW's Fantasmic hasn't been upgrading in forever. I doubt they'll want to spend money on the dragon.

  • I'll believe it looks like this when I see it. Last time the commercial's Dragon did not depict the actual one in person..

  • well, its definetely not going to look like that. OBVIOUSLY.

    chomericals over exagerate everything.

BUT they are saying it looks very life-ike.

Ten times more life-ike then the puppet they had before.

  • I've seen pictures of some of the different parts of the dragon as well as a CG! rendering of what the final product will look like. You can see those pics and model if you do a search for "Disneyland Fantasmic! Preview 2009" on here. Either way, it looks a hell of a'lot better than the goofy looking dragon head on the end of a crane with random ribbons come down it's "neck".

  • Ooo! It looks cool! :D I can't wait to see it!

  • OHHHH I CAN"T WAIT!!!!

  • I thought fantasmic was good before, now it's going to be amazing. I can't wait to see it!

  • woah, i am very curious to see this!

  • i saw it on the 27th of june....but there was no dragon....but still it made my body shiver with anxiety, excitement, and JOY.

  • I'm sorry, but the show is not 're-imagined', they just upgraded some props, but they didn't change the show by adding new scenes or anything like that. This commercial is misleading.

  • it actually is "re imagined"

because thats what its called when disney renovates something.

    They re-imagined the dragon

    they "re-imagined" the crocodile

they "re imagined" the visual effects"

and the chomerical makes it clear that there is a new dragon. and thats the big draw.

  • Florida's Fantasmic is 're-imagined', & not done so very well. It has new scenes, new characters, & new Music which differ from the original version. THIS Fantasmic is still the same exact show, only with 3 new puppets. That is NOT 're-imagined' to me.

The fact that Disney is too cheap to build a new attraction in DL & instead would rather spend there money to market a new prop in a seasonal temporary summer show, & make it seem like a big deal is pretty pathetic.

  • Your talking about the ""prop"" as if its some tiny thing.

The Dragon Prop is the signature feature in fantasmic. And adding an entirely new, life like, dragon, that people will undoubtedy notice. IS in fact, "re imagining" it. and yes, floridas version sux. they tried to "add" to it.

it didnt flow as well as disneyland. "Re'imagining" is changing the same things they already have. Which is exactly what disneyland is doing.

  • DL is too cheap to build new rides? That's why they have been filming Star Tours 2 all winter and spring.

  • That's not building a new ride, it replacing an old film with a new one. Again, It's much more cost effective to change the film on an old ride then it is to completely build a new attraction from the ground up, & has Star Tours 2 even officially been confirmed or announced yet? For all we know, they might film it then scrap it or not even use it. Disney has done stranger things before.

  • The 1.2 BILLION dollars being spent at DCA has been confirmed.... That's not building a new ride? Plus this show is upgraded every summer. They are just advertising it now.

  • If Disney wasnt cheap, & had built DCA correctly in the 1st place without cutting corners & the budget, then they wouldnt paying for it in this construction mess now

My point it, they wasting $ to advertise a new dragon, & the average guess will not notice anything new, unless they are a passholder whose seen the show several times. Unless the show has been drastically revamped, I dont see why people would fork over $70 just to see some figures, thatll only be on stage for a couple seconds.

  • Lots of elements in the show have been redesigned or replaced completely, including the Dragon, Ursula, Flotsam and Jetsam, and newer, more vibrant video for the three large mist screens. From what I've heard, the new improvements make the show well worth watching again.

Though it isn't likely worth the price of admission, few people ever consider their ticket price as going to entirely to one thing. Summer Nightastic is just a means of giving guests that little nudge towards another trip.

  • Please don't criticize Disney on their own YouTube video..

  • Oh, you go right ahead & watch me. If Disney didn't want Criticism, then they shouldn't allow people to comment on their videos. This is a Free Country, people can say what they want. Disney however, is a communist regime, sugarcoating anything they deem "un-disney" with Pixie Dust, & going as far as to tell their employees how to look, dress, live, & what they can & can't say. Disney cares way too much about its image & needs to lighten up.

  • Comment removed

  • You know what, you're entirely right. Why should people spend so much money if the dragon won't be there? Isn't that false advertisement?
