I used to prefer Skiba's voice over Dan's. But, I really like Dan's better, now. He tends to have a smooth clean voice, and writes the most honest and romantic songs ever. A lot less whining, and a lot more truth-telling. I attach almost every song he sings on this album to any lady I happen to be emotionally attached to.
This album is always better in winter. Same goes for Crimson. It's probably because I bought both CDs at the same time once in winter and used to listen to them religiously on the bus home from college.
So weird that the band don't like this album at all. Lol Both Matt and Dan said they had "nothing to write about" Derek hates the drums and Matt hates the production on his voice...Still some tunes amongst it though. Continental in particular is fantastic. This is good too.
A lot of songs out there almost sound like a random assortment of words. Be it from they singer not writing the song his/her self. Or just from the artist not believing what they are singing about it. But no song is ever like that with AT every song is like Matt Skiba telling a story from a personal life experience. They are fantastic.

@penguinnumbers they have this nasty n nature sound that i cant help but love. spilling over ashtrays. smell of stale beer. dishes that havent gotten washed in a week. not hard to do when your on a bender, huh matt?

Thats one of the reasons i keep coming back to Good Mourning.
Its Mats croaky/tortured voice that I love.
I will never forget the first time I heard Blue in The face from this.
That voice just grabbed me straight away.
