  • This should have millions of views, bottom line

  • 2:06 Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

  • nicki mnaj's stup hoe song has 10 million views in 4 days, yet this, 364k......wtf man, does anyone else see a problem with that?!?

  • he's Wu Tang material but, in his own league seperate from Wu Tang, a real legend already, and a damn shame that his stuff isn't main stream, if people knew what real music was, he'd be one of the most piad artists today, not nici minaj or katy perry, or justin beiber or roscoe dash or any bullshit for that matter

  • Does anyone know what the excerpt before Part III is from and what it's significance is? I'd really appreciate it!

  • @PieandBiscuits It's from a movie called Turtles Can Fly

  • 4:17 always gets me

  • I feel as if I'll never full understand the true meaning of this song

  • This whole thing is amazing, thank you Jay for creating this...

  • 240p´is the new vinyl

  • Does anyone know where I may purchase this song legally? I try not to download from YouTube, unless it is necessary. (With a song as original as this, it must be part of my music collection.)

  • @TheCorazyCam Its not for purchase it was released for free on his Myspace in 07. Jay has no official mixtapes or albums, you can grab some unofficial compilations(Style Wars EP, What The F*ck Is A Jay Electronica or Electrochemicals) on datpiff or various other sites. As of right now I believe he has no purchasable music other then a few singles on iTunes (Exhibit C / A; Close Your Eyes and Landspeeder under the group The Bullitts). Peace.

  • Act IV is easily the most beautiful verse / instrumental I've ever encountered, such a moving song, absolutely incredible.

Act II is particularly hard-hitting for me, considering I'm going through a tough breakup 2 years after falling in love with the girl of my dreams — tee hee, what a place I'm in.

  • Holy fuck, I have a new favorite song. It's literally perfect.

  • Im so late, but late is better than never

  • this song has helped me

  • Ka-BoooooM

  • jay is seriously crazy.. hip hop needed someone like this

  • Call me Jay DOGON im on some SIRIUS SHIT.

    MOTHERFUCKER.

  • Does anyone know the source of the foreign kids in the Voodoo man intro? Or a translation?

  • A true lyricist emerging from the myst of gangster gimmicks, freak shows, and nagging backpack rappers.

    Pure hip-hop

  • 5:30

  • where is the sample from 4:20 from? the weird language one

  • Always amazed at your skills.

  • Album is supposedly done and should be dropping next year hopefully. Of course the album was supposed to drop in 09 so who knows if he is ever gonna drop it. But hopefully for all of us he releases the album.

  • @CiscoTheOmega It'll come out when "Detox" does, haha. Jay Elect and Dre should drop their albums on the same day, how funny would that be?!

  • @FenceDaGreat New Jersey Nets will win championship before Jay drop an album.

  • This single piece of music has its own place in Hip-Hop history. This man is genuinely a genius. Ironically reminds of Nikola Telsa in more ways than 1.

  • @TrellsoAmazing928 lol. Speaks volumes

  • Damn, can you imagine Elzhi and Jay Electronica on a song together produced by either J Dilla or Madlib...just thinking about it gives me the chills.

  • @IEtherianSoul9 Sadlythough, we can't have any thing more from J Dilla : (

  • @IEtherianSoul9 Why did it make my sad face a smiley face? Woops!

  • @IEtherianSoul9 good call on elzhi ,j dilla and madlib. so many ppl sleep on elzhi its not even funny, not to mention j dilla and madlib productions

  • I'm sure those kids were speaking Kurdish.... What exactly were arguin about though?

  • This 9 minutes from 2007 is better than most hour-long albums that were put out in 2011! Jay Elec for President in 2012!

  • Same old rugged cross different crucified messiah....MESSAGE!

  • @MusicandAir u can clearly tell by his teachings he isn't ur traditional muslim.. he practices everything kinda like dr malachi thought us..

  • Willy Wonka sample at 1:58

  • @Solanale He's rapping over Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind's tracks.

  • This is the Bohemian RAPsody

  • I was listening to my ipod during journalism, since I finished my work. I was high as shit, and when this came on, I almost cried when listening to Act 4

  • @Caron3Butler me too

  • FINALLY HE IS HERE.

  • I'm kinda blown away be this... This is amazing stuff. One first listen this feels like a timeless classic,

  • What language are the kids speaking?

  • @dedwards0117 arabic

  • @dedwards0117 It kurdish actually..from the movie "Turtles can Fly"

  • @574882 Thanks. Like DeaflyBlind, I thought it was Arabic, but I asked a friend who speaks Arabic and he said it wasn't Arabic and he didn't know what they were saying.

  • THIS & EXIBIT A/B/C ARE SOME OF HIS BEST YOU TUBE! "Are you watching closely?"

  • This man is destined to change music. Hell, he already is.

  • Hearing this inspired me to have my own little attempt at adding lyrics to a song from the Eternal Sunshine soundtrack. Would really appreciate it if you could have a look at my page and see what you make of it! It's the one called 'Life and such...' :)

  • @morg334 I'll listen to it right now

  • The piano sample at 7:20....anybody knows where it comes from?

  • @Saskiequelle, Its from the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Soundtrack. The song is called Row by Jon Brion.

  • Do you remember the dialogue in "Act Won" (Things fall apart - The Roots). There is a quote from Spike Lee's Mo' Better Blues about hip-hop records being treated as disposable, that they aren't maximized as product or as art. I feel like this piece is not going to be treated as disposable. In my ears, its art.

  • i wish the production was better...

  • Jay electronica sampled this for a reason. if u havent watched this movie.... WATCH IT!! its amazing!!

  • WHAT IS THIS SAMPLED FROM? PLZ ANSWER

  • @toorawforu23 its the soundtrack from a film 'Eternal Sunshine on A Spotless Mind'. The first bit atleast

  • @toorawforu23 Its sampled from the movie Eternal Sunshine(starring Jim Carey)

  • too bad you didn't upload the intro with the interviews because that makes it even better

  • i listened to a nine minute song for about an hour now

  • i was smacked in Journalism class one day. Weren't learning anything so I put my Ipod in. I listened to Act IV and almost cried.

  • @Caron3Butler i know it sounds so pretty

  • Not to be annoying, but in the description you put VI (6) not IV(4). Some might get confused, just saying. Anyways GREAT video. Thanks. This was my first time hearing this and it was fantastic quality. Do you have a D/L link?

  • Cant wait for some more J Elec epics. ...shit, was about to write 'classic', but then noticed it was already written right below me. How can you not be a fan?

  • Jay Electronica > 'nuff said.

  • mmmm chew em up shitten out rappers. classic.

  • This song really hits me, Jay spits the truth and you don't here much of that lately. Just bs that destroys people. "Just cause I'm a muslim and you a jew we dont get along" speak the truth brother.

  • This man is just a breath of fresh air to the whole rap game. This is just...amazing. Pure amazing.

  • but also i think... jay electronica.. this is him^.. this is him... what he does on a song is so different from other artists... so effortless yet so cautious, careful... its so.. efficient.. if people expressed themselves musically like this it would be like gold.. ya digg.. and so.. as i was saying.. his rhymes flow and its so natural... i think thats the essence of hiphop.. natural thought, no caution or filter or edit... just flow... and thats where skills are determined.. how dope you r

  • if you listen to the 4th part you can really feel that.. jay just flows but with such free expression... and i think that finding that in hip-hop is so rare these days.. i think thats what its all about... finding a balance between flowing and free expression... cuz i mean you can flow but sometimes you cant freely express.. and you can freely express yourself but sometimes you cant flow.. <this. its so evident in the last part.. hes just freely expressing.. like breathing... so natural ... love

  • brilliant

  • <3

  • This man is the FUCKN TRUTH. Needs to drop an Album of this quality

  • wooooooww, badass is all i can say...act iv is AMAZING

  • I didn't want it to end

  • I think I just shit.....

  • whats the kids in different language ? reminds me of Slumdog millionaire

  • @1storyabove it's from Babel i think.

  • I need to see a Jay Electronica and Prince Ea collab! two of the best lyricists alive

  • im speechless. he just called out one of my favorite movies. guess who's my new favorite!?!

  • This is one of the most amazing segments of hip hop ever created. Seriously. Nobody this talented is speaking out for rap anymore. Finally something that matters is being put out...

  • @Aus10hxc have you heard lupe fiasco or j cole??

  • @MrBlackter1 haha Dude, I have worshiped Lupe Fiasco for like six years. He's the man. Minus Lasers, but that was Atlantic Records' fault. J. Cole is nice too. Looking forward to September 27th.

  • @Aus10hxc This was uploaded three years ago. Real shit has never stopped flowing out of hip hop. It's called underground. These guys don't worship money, they have too much love.

  • @Aus10hxc there's a lot of rappers who do...you just have to find them..for example.. Prince Ea, K Rino, Canibus, Immortal Technique, Aesop Rock and hundreds more...

  • Jay-E Lupe F NaS and P Floyd.....The Black Disciples be very afraid....real lyrics real life....God vs Satan you choose...

  • @PFloydBeatz J.cole....you only forgot the best one thats all. no arguement here though, thats my opinion.

  • @PFloydBeatz what the fuck are you talking about man shut up

  • I LOVE the Gene Wilder skit. SOO true in many aspects of life!

  • the children voice came from the movie turtle can fly for those who dont already know and if you watch the movie ;; ull see how powerfull these lines are .

  • Jay Electronica, u're gonna be great...

  • I love the third section with the children, voodoo man and ominous woodwinds.

  • i was high when i first heard this.........

    MY EARS GOT RAPED!!!!

now im addicted to this!! lol

  • I am convinced that Jay is the rap Jesus, he has revolutionised contemporary rap that is a fact. Its people like this that bring light to the decaying music industry of today.

  • 1) Voodoo Man

    2)Eternal Sunshine

    3)Paper Thin

    4) FYI

  • 7:23

No, NOT "i.e. spaceships"... Watch NdGT break it down about UFOs. zfAzaDyae-k

  • 9 Minutes Pure Of A Good Song :) <3

  • @fleebenworth yea they rap about the same topic knowledge byut everyone of them has a different flow and hip hop is supposed to be about knowledge and helping your community

  • the first time i heard this i cried.....

  • God-Hop

  • Anunnaki swagg type shit. God Hop all day, everyday.

  • This is somebody I'd do a song with in the industry

    .

  • @M4001G somebody id die to meet

    hes my idol

  • THIS man is a Sirius problem.

  • But y'all would much rather hear me rappin' bout trash

The size of Erykah's ass, blunts and cash

    We need savin'

Minds are consumed with swine we need bathin'

  • Enough with the Illuminati/Freemason/Satanist crap. Just shut up and listen to some good music.

  • He follows the religion of Islam.

  • This God-Hop

  • Do it matter what he is,,, his music is good and you should just listen,,,, "GOOD DAY SIR!!! "

  • love the willie wonka samples haha

  • "I'm trying to kill Lucifer" - Jay Electronica

That explain his connection to Satanism?

  • @FenceDaGreat he's against religion, not god

  • @WeHoldThisTitle Ya, I know. Just saying that it's funny that people think he's a Satanist when he claims to be trying to kill Lucifer. I can see how people see Satanic messages in this song. Everything from the beat to the lyrics is very cryptic in nature, but this song is way deeper than Satan and all that religious shit.

  • This is the most important song for GOD and hip-hop,,,I never heard such beauty in a rhyme,,,, It put's me at peace

  • His random movie quotes/scenes are on point and creative.

  • i can tell somebody raw when I just all of a sudden start smiling and having to rewind it.

  • we do care! just because :D

  • I like his eternal sunshine sampling

  • 26 hates.WoW I guess people can be stupid as fuck to understand authenticity.

  • Amazing! I'm a sound engineer. I would LOVE to record this professionally if there already isn't one.

  • i show people this song and they say this song is dumb and they cant understand what he is saying. it pisses me off.

  • @poopstarch thats because greedy motherfuckers dumb down rap and hip hop for our dumbed down society. this song is what rap really is. poetry of the soul. 90 percent of people do not posses the intelligence to see outside of the blinders purposely set on them. dont get mad at em. pity them.

  • @centerdfender ur right. i should pity them. thats what ill do from now on.

  • @centerdfender 85% actually , the 10% control them, the 5% know the truth

  • Oh yes,I am watching DAMN UP CLOSELY!!!

  • This nigga looks like a mix of 50 & KRS ONE

  • This guy is a salesman for a soft drinks company.

Martin Luther King: "I have been to the mountaintop"

Jay Electronica: "I have been to the Mountain Dew"

    Spot the difference.

  • Jay Electronica is the Digital GOD Prophet. I feel the alignment of all religions.

  • Comment removed

  • he looks like hipster 50 cent

  • God-Hop

  • he rap to fast on this i like lil b's better

  • @3mm3t LMAO i just heard it and wow....lmfao thats all i have to say lmaoo xDD

    jay is better haha

  • Sick, True Hip Hop IS still here and it will rise once again, because it's not about diamonds, players ho's and G's, bitch please! fake sentiment bringing free thinking to it's knees, survival of the fittest now means fittest of the mind, now more than ever we can't be blind, because the everyday grind will grind you up, mess you up, dress you up with false ideals along 15 seconds of fame and happy meals...

  • too raw. This guy needs to get on the radio quick

  • is he muslim

  • @ChamiiTv would it change anything?

  • What's the translation at 4:30? Right before "Voodoo Man"?

  • Quality,

    ONE LOVE ; )

  • I don't exaggerate at all when I say this is my favorite song.

  • Jay puts the poetry back in RAP every time.

  • Jay puts the poetry back in RAP everytime

  • By far one of my favourite songs.

    Lyrics be crazzy.

  • Never heard anyone like this. He has the potential to be up there with the best,

Kingdom music for the hard rocks!

  • no drums no hook. thats how you know jay elec has one of the illest flows

  • This is how rap is supposed to be, the spoken word.

  • dmt for life, dimethaltryptaline is the spirit molecule, thank you jay electronica. we've only just begun...

  • So good.

  • jay electronica is the future

  • what is them two lil kids arguing about?

  • Nine minutes and six seconds of dope...

  • Lines 7/8: like a house in a home and a chairs and the chair acts with the van = Like a house is a home and a chair is a chair, ask Luther Van. (This is a ref to a Bacharach song covered by Luther Vandross, A House is not a Home)

  • @tumyslamma

it's just a simple analogy in response to a comment, not ranting about Odd Future in relation to this song

  • incredible, this shit is like poetry

  • @emilyrosenich absolutely

  • Comment removed

  • @TheMadvillainy that "girl" talking is erykah badu one of the most talented artists of the last few decades, and also the mother of jay electronica's child. get your knowledge up.

  • jay electronica is the true no one can fuck him

  • This isnt the full version, the full version has a 6 minute intro of just blaze and erykah badu. I know the songs long but to say the one that has all the music in it is the full song isn't 100% accurate.

Everything was done for a reason, especially when Jay Crafted it himself.

  • I love these Willy Wonka samples in Jay Electronicas songs I know that movie like the back of my hand

  • Fuck yeah.. hip hop is awesome again now it's filled up with all these fuckin weirdos

  • @bitcloud1 weirdos?

  • @DeaflyBlind no doubt... jay electronica... BOB... odd future... all the outsiders and freaks and weirdos make the best hip hop

  • This nigga 34 its time for him to get it popping

  • @GONJASENSAIwu

"getting it popping" is not what Jay wants to do. Jay does not want a million dollar record deal. He doesn't want cameras and fucking interviewers. He wants you to listen to this song and be changed.

  • @conclusius

Yet he signed a big record deal which involved cameras and fucking interviewers. It's a trip how that works in the end.

  • @AllPro777

Well yeah, its still a necessary evil. Even if Tyler the Creator didnt want a Grammy, you think they wouldnt sign to a label to get press and cash? Tyler still hates interviewers.

I don't want to work 8 hours a day for the rest of my life, but you know what, I'm probably gonna have to. It's still not what I want though.
