You need to at least identify the positives of Imperialism. Education, which has never been stressed in Africa. Commerce, economic markets, jobs, infrastructure. Africans have resources now, they have the manpower to create a good flowing economy. It is time to stop blaming the " white devils" for Africa's domestic problems.
If a European goes to Africa, starts and business, and makes money, which is pretty much what Imperialism was. He doesn't just make money for himself, his family and his country, but he creates Jobs and an Economic Market. It gives Africans and opportunity to work for money. this was 4 years ago. since then ingram has lost her show at fox ( "news" ??) due to poor ratings, and her radio show for the same.now she makes irregular "guest" spots at fox. her "stock" never did rise as other conservative comentators.she is very low on that "totem pole".only a few of her youtube clips ever break the 50,000 mark which is nothing in this formatt.the only one over a million is of her being a witch off camara called "dont come in my ear"...she's finished dont waste firepower.

We have bases in Germany but are we still at war with them? No. We are in Iraq, but we are withdrawing. It isn't like we can get them all out in 1 day. Also, there was a surge, but Obama is starting to withdraw from Afghanistan too, not as fast as he could but still.

If a European goes to Africa, starts and business, and makes money, which is pretty much what Imperialism was. He doesn't just make money for himself, his family and his country, but he creates Jobs and an Economic Market. It gives Africans and opportunity to work for money. Rhodesia was literally a vacation spot for Europeans looking to go away to a paradise. Rhodesia had VERY little crime in the 50's and 60's and there was much wealth and economic activity to go around. It was one of the most desired destinations in the World.
Then what happened was a steady tide of Liberalism struck Africa, the Whites in Rhodesia were demonized and labeled invaders. Eventually they were pushed out and the vote was given back to the blacks. Now look at former- Rhodesia.

@StonewallJackson26 sorry but colonialism was an exploitation of the resources and people of the colonized areas, especially in southeast asia and africa. The humanitarian help is great, but that is all very recent, in the last century or so. And colonialism doesn't "destroy" the realms of course, if it did there would be no profit for the colonizers. But it does prevent indigenous development. All development is geared with an agenda in mind, in favor of the colonizers.

@farizzal it is development none the less. Africa's biggest problems are domestic, not foreign. Stop with the blame game. Africa's biggest issue is AIDS. Which was spread by eating green monkey meat. Africa lacked the science to even understand what a virus was and it took European intervention to identify the cause of HIV- AIDS.

Everything you are talking about is after the fact, I am not talking about anything remotely as recent as you keep referencing. I am talking about the Imperialism of the 18 and 19th centuries.

@farizzal And Europe was ravaged and destroyed by 2 world wars. Their economic markets, the infrastructure, their population was all devastated. Socially, Europe has recovered and now many countries in the EU are doing very well. Germany being the most prosperous and that is saying a lot considering Germany was flattened during the War. European Imperials of 200- 300 years ago is a ridiculous excuse.
Africans have to stop killing each other and educate their population.

@StonewallJackson26 yes but at that point by the 20th century years of imperialism had placed Europe and America as super powers, with the majority of the world's resources in their control. They had the ability to get back up on their feet. The impact of 200 years of imperialism has a huge impact on what happened during the world wars, it was the reason those wars were global in the first place, you can't just waive that off. I agree with you that Africa needs huge reform, but I disagree that

@StonewallJackson26 excuse for what? For Africa's condition? If you think that the state of Africa today is ENTIRELY the fault of the people that live there, then you are wrong. Imperialism had a huge impact on the world, especiall what we now call the third world. It is not entirely to blame, but it was a big factor in determining how the development of those countries progressed.

@farizzal Right but you have refused and failed to realize the positive economic growth that imperialism brings. Like I said earlier, it sets up economic markets and it establishes infrastructure. Every country on the globe have had imperialism at one point or another, even the United States. Imperialism is not even a sorry excuse for Africa's problems, it is NO excuse.

@StonewallJackson26 Imperialism can have positive effects if it is a humanitarian mission, but the imperialism of the 18th and 19th and early 20th century was nothing of the sort. So far, Imperialism has a really bad track record because of the corrupt powers that run it.
