I like this song a lot too but I always think the monologue and the lyrics of this song are talking about two different subjects. Personally I like the monologue lot more than the lyrics because it so much more philosophical. The sentiment that nothing will stay forever is something you only understand more as you grow older

definitely classic. I also agree that nowadays too many songs are unnecessarily long and clumsy. The fundamental singing techniques of the singers of the older generation are also unparalleled. Nowadays every girl just wants to sing like Faye and overuses falsetto. I guess they should simply practise songs like these till they are fundamentally sound first. Yes, I have the same feeling as well. I couldn't understand what they are singing..long & clumsy lyrics, it is too hard to remember. A good music should be the one always keep in your mind and never get bored.
