@Lerry80 A supercharger is different than a turbo. Superchargers are belt driven and turbochargers are powered by exhaust; both are forms of forced induction. The FSI engine has loud ass injectors that sound like a diesel; the TSI does not. I read the rest of that post a few times and can't decipher anything else in it. I think by "aspirate" you meant "naturally aspirated" but you would still be wrong as both engines in the gti are turbocharged. I don't understand. Did I just have a stroke?
@LordBunbuns hi again lord! please pay attention on the thing that GTI is supercharged....the new golf R is 2.0L TSI (270 cv)....Regarding this "old model" (Golf V) GTI is T-FSI (if it was only FSI it would refer to an aspirate model)...So GTI is T-FSI because it is supercharged....I have to say also that in my family we have an Audi TT 2.0 L and on the front side of the engine there is written "FSI", but behind this there is also written "turbo"...Regards!
@LordBunbuns Ok..now I'e nderstood we are almost saying the same thing: there are 2 models of GTI but both of 2 are supercharged....TSI (Turbocharged Stratified Injection) and FSI, which is not simple "Direct injection petrol engine), but it is also "Turbo". In fact maxt775 in his first post say "2.0 L T". Now everything is clear!
I own a highly modified '08 GTI MkV. I purchased the car when I was still living in SoCal and would go to Autotech on my lunch breaks. Of all the cars I've built and all the exhausts I've put in, I am really really really happy with my Autotech CAT-Back Magnaflow exhaust system.
Listening to this car with only the new exhaust system sounds so cute, but still mean. Don't stop with the exhaust. Add a chip, CAI, intercooler, suspension, sway bars, etc etc etc. The GTI loves to modified.
I just ordered this system thanks to your post but if it needs a bit more growl I might change the Magnaflow and slap a Borla. If I do that I'll post it. Thanks again
thanks man, it was something like $420 including shipping. it's mandrel bent pipe and has a magna-flow muffler right in it. it just bolts right on for the install. i ordered it from the Bulletproof Speed Hardware website (google them)
thanks dude yeah im looking into getting a GTI cuz there just awesome haha and trying to see if theres any aftermarket things worth putting on you know i thought about this cuz it sounds sweet maybe a limited slip diff idk
I agree...However the AutoTech is so loud at WOT that the microphone can properly capture it and it gives it that ricey effect - especially after 4k RPM.. all my mic captures is noise. If you were to hear it in person, it would have much more depth. You can also hear the turbo spool much better with the AutoTech however the stock isn't too bad either.
$500 for that :( too much!

@maxt775 so is your GTI an FSI or TSI? And Did you have to get a 3" downpipe before you could install this? and have you had a chip flash?
LordBunbuns 1 year ago
@LordBunbuns FSI, and no downpipe or flash. Everything else other than the exhaust is bone stock.
maxt775 1 year ago
@maxt775 Do you know what the difference between the TSI model and FSI is? Because I have a TSI and all i know is that the engine is different.
LordBunbuns 1 year ago
@LordBunbuns Hi Lord! If the author of the video say that this is a GTI, of course it is a TFSI (it should be the one with 200 hp 2.0L)...
Lerry80 1 year ago
@Lerry80 there is not such a thing as a TFSI. the GTIs are either TSI or FSI

two questions
1. is the car red or orange?
2. is there enough room to dual out the tips like on the new 2010?
kcam04 2 years ago
1. red
2. yes, although you would need to have a special bumper fitted. or you could custom make one yourself
