I've got the EL34 version of the Mk. 1 and I have to say I love the thing, the versatility is pretty awesome. I will say that the EL34 version is definitely a lot different that what you hear here though haha
can any of you guys plz respond. i wanna buy this pickup configuration but i wanted to know if the bridge pickup is good for rhythms?? because im not the shredder kind of person, i mostly just play rhythm
I understand if you don't show off in a product / amp demo, but do you have any vids with some bad ass playing / shredding? With all the amps you have you must be a monster guitar player but I haven't seen it yet :)
@fatuefatuttu Biggest differences are that the MkI comes with 6L6's (though some later ones shipped with EL34's) and spring reverb... all MkII's come with EL34's and no reverb. Personally, having owned both, I preferred the MkI because it was a bit smoother, but then again, I was never much of a Marshally/EL34 kinda guy to begin with.
Yeah, I did use the low B... video was longer than 10 minutes, though, so I had to split it into two parts... all the B-string riffs are in the second video...
thanks for taking the time to make this for us. Rude motherfuckers on youtube making dickhead coments.. jeeezzzzz...
anyway thanks for this... may I suggest for futuer demos to use a "room mike" and mix that with the shure you have close to the speaker.. it will give a true tone with less speaker scratch...
A good to hear someone actually mic's their amp on youtube. Cleans sound great but the gain tones are real buzzy. They just dont hit the mic well. a 57 usually works on anything that has a matching cab but it sound like no matter where its placed its gonna get that tone. I would try something more hyped in the mids. BTW..its the 2.5k to 4k area that is not smooth here.
I have a Triamp as well, and I have noticed the same thing in my amp regarding the buzzy frequencies. A local tech who worked on my amp took out some cap in the amp, and that seemed to make a difference. Before that, you did NOT want to raise the presence past about 9 or 10 o'clock!
Have the 6string, and consider to swap to those pups to.. How big is the difference from the stock pu´s and the new ones. It hard to tell only from the vids, here on youtube.
Is it, really big or just little.. Dont wanna if not. cause pups, are way to expencive in denmark:-(
To me, it was a pretty big difference... I'd never entirely bonded with the original EBMM JP7 pickups (always sounded kinda like a blanked was over the amp.. kinda flat, not much character)... the LiquiFire/CrunchLab set were everything I wanted... smoother solo tones in the neck position, crisper cleans in the middle position, and better definition on crunch tones in the bridge position. Definitely worth it, IMO. And who knows, you may get some money from selling your old pickups.

How does the neck joint feel ? It seems pretty fat, not like an all-access by Ibanez, for example
