honestly, this is ridiculous. In the book, this happens in the beginning, and they both fall under his trance, mainly Raoul, who faints on the steps of the church and nearly freezes to death until someone finds him in the morning. And, there is a difference between Raul and Raoul.

It's a shame you can't separate voices on a recording, as Gerald Butler shouldn't sing until he gets some lessons, but I think Emmy is the better Christine. Yes, Sarah Brightman is a far-superior singer and the musical was written in inspiration of her voice, but I think Emmy has a better voice for the role, and pronounces things more ordinarily (operer in Brightman's case).

@Blackthorne369 I don't know if you could call Christine useless because technically she is smarter than Raoul because she's more aware of what Erik is capable of and she uses that to save Raoul. So, despite Raoul trying to save her, she saves the day in the end. There's also Mina in Dracula, who proves to be just as brave and intelligent as the men. Then there's Esmeralda, who starts off as strong by caring for others until Pheobus arrives and, of course, no Brontë heroine is EVER useless.

I absolutely love this song, my favorite in the whole movie. The best part is the harmonization between the two which is just so amazing. But......when they have a trio like this....I'm sorry, but with the trio its almost too much. Almost too noisy, though obviously they sing very well.

I just wish they would have skipped the Raoul part singing along. This is a song between Erik and Christine, Raoul is just butting in >:|

I know, I was a bit irritated too when I read it, but just to be fair, not everyone who saw the movie was exposed to the original stage cast first. I mean, when I first saw the movie back in 2005, I had only heard maybe 2 or 3 songs from the Original Cast Recording and had seen a few pictures.

I am really happy that people recognize Emmy's mastery of this role. I was so afraid that people would discount her because of her age and relative inexperience. She is magic in this role. I have seen Sara live in NY, London and Toronto. She can't touch Emmy.
