  • Okay i need some help. Which would be the best betta breeding pair? I got a Plakat male, Veiltail mail, Crowntail male, and Halfmoon male, and 2 Veiltale females.

  • can i mate a crown tail male with a veil tale female?

....she has a horizontal stripe along her body ... what does that mean? i wanna mate her.. will she get vertical stripes?

i can't mate the original pair cuz shes got pop eye.. and hes got fungus.. im giving them medicine now..

  • i mated my male and female.. they had babies.. but the fry ended up dieing :(... how long do i have to wait to remate them? she still has an eggspot and stripes..

  • @x0NiightMare0x About two weeks to a month, depends on what you're feeding the female. The better the foods of conditioning, the shorter it takes for the female to be ready again to breed.

  • @Shabby85 i feed her freeze dried blood warms... 2wise a day..

also another question.. uhh i have a 10gallon tank. how much should i fill it??

can i leave the snail? and the algae eaters? or just the snail?

  • @x0NiightMare0x On Freeze-dried bloodworms you should condition her for about 3 weeks or so, you should note she is plump before feeding her at the morning as a sign of her being ready to spawn again.

In a 10 gallon tank a water level of about 10-15 c"m hight is enough, and it should be bare-bottomed (no gravel or any other substrate).

What snail is in it? The algae eaters should be removed to another tank.

  • @Shabby85 i have a snail to clean the bottom of the tank.. it eats food the betta didn't eat..

shes is fat again.. and its been maybe 1-2 weeks since i bred her.. i have another female she has the eggs spot too.. should i try her .. because original i was going to use her but my male didn't seem to like her...

  • I prefer to keep some snails in the breeding and growout tanks, so they take care of uneaten foods, so I think it's ok to leave it in the tank.

If she looks ready, then you can try again with her. You can also try the other female as well, not every time breeding goes as planned, but maybe it'll workout this time.

  • @Shabby85 thx so much for ur help !! :3
