The way i see it (no word for word translation).

If you want to become one with God first you need make God your yaar.

Yaar being a connection so far from what we know only those who reach it like Bulleh Shah or Mirabai could understand.

We all want to meet God, or be with god but we spend our lives with hate, anger, jealousy living for everything but God. Those who made him their Yaar have nothing but him, not even a body.
