  • That is the saddest video I have ever seen. Perfect song choice and you did an amazing job as usual. They have the saddest love story. Guh. Can't take it. Wonderful though. Wonderful.

  • @ruddyduck Thank you :) For some reason my comments aren't coming through to my email acct any more (probably some stupid filter) anyway thanks for watching

  • Very beautiful!

  • @LittleGirlFromSweden Thank you :)

  • Man! How epic was that! :D

  • @waffleconeatethealpa Thank you :)

  • However, for me, it will always be one of the greatest (hidden) love stories/tragedies ever -on par with anything Jane Austen or the Bronte sisters etc. could ever have written. Snape will always remain my 'dark hero' (forget Heathcliffe, Darcy, Mr. Rochester etc. - all parts AR could have played with ease IMHO!) And absolutely no other actor could have played that part aswell as AR. Thank God Tim Roth was otherwise engaged with Planet of the Apes at the time - AR was born for the part! :-)

  • @sevvy253 I agree, Tim Roth would have been seriously miscast, Alan was made for the role and he owned it. I think little Severus was a better cast part than young Lily, she had brown eyes??? What did you think of the casting for teen Severus? I thought that was a bit more realistic. Considering how pivotal Snape was for the storyline, I always felt the film makers seriously underused him.

  • @spikesbint Yes, Alec Hopkins (teen Snape) was just perfect wasn't he! I don't know why he wasn't used more either, especially considering (as you've said) how Snape was pivotal to the whole story-line. His whole 'back story' should have been better clarified. As it was, non-HP book readers (such as my hubby), when watching the films - especially DH2 - were not getting the full impact. And indeed many (including my hubby) actually came away from DH2 believing Snape to be Harry's father!! :-)

  • Great job - lovely vid! Despite the film makers managing to get the tragedy of it all across better than I'd feared, I still felt it could have been better. E.g: the actor who played young Snape (Benedict Clarke), beautiful as he was, looked nothing like adult Snape/AR. Benedict's round face/eyes were an unbelievable younger version of AR's long face/almond-shaped eyes. Silly maybe, but IMHO it's the little things that count in such re-telling; AR himself is the 'master' of nuances! :-)

  • I'm so infatuated with this piece. It was very well done, and gives a good insight to our true part of the story of love. To me the book transitioned from that of a boy defeating a great enemy, but that of love and friendship lost and to a very stereotypical fashion no less. If silently Snape was so protective of her child, even with having Potter's blood, what kind of love would this character have had if he won Lily's heart?

  • @ravenantonia *sigh* I agree, and I think Snape was a character starved of love, and he had a great capacity for it, life really shafted him. I know I am talking about him like he is real lol, but I think in a way if you love a character you obviously identify with them in some way. (or perhaps its just me lol)

  • Your vid is stunning!!

Snape & Lily - their story brings me always to tears and you captured the "essence" of them both perfectly! One of the best video about the thematic Snape & Lily and great editing! :-)

  • @TessDurbeyfield81 Thank you, I just love the Snape story, I guess a lot of us are suckers for the sad tragic love stories and AR plays it so well. I remember bawling when reading the Prince's tale and the movie version affected me just as much

  • @spikesbint

Right, I'm of the opinion that no one other could play Severus Snape! AR is Snape! He's the most talented actor of this planet! And yes, I love this sad tragic love story too. I wish S&L were brought together but otherwise there were no Harry and 7 wonderful books ;-)

  • *_* STUNNED. That was amazing - one of the best I've seen too - looked great, good clip choices & using other clips of GS too! But I'm sad again... ! ;) <3

  • @MsSardonicus Thank you, I am really looking forward to seeing yours when you make it, I have enjoyed your other vids and yeah I know what you mean, poor Snape!

  • That was so incredibly moving, Snape's story is the most tragic of the whole series and you captured that brilliantly. Wish there was a 'Love" button at times like these:)

  • @gracefulangel47 Thank you, Snape and his story made the books and the movies for me. Thanks for commenting :D

  • This is amazing...one of the best vids I've seen on here of ANY kind. You have a real gift for capturing a story. And this was such a BEAUTIFUL story to try to capture. Not an easy task, but you did an amazing job. Wonderful tribute! <3

  • @surefireangels Thank you, so glad you enjoyed it, it took forever to rip the movies, but I think Snape it worth it ;)

  • @spikesbint Alan Rickman is ALWAYS worth it! ;)

Such an amazing actor, always bringing the passion of his characters to life. He made Snape such a captivating character, which is why everyone was so drawn to him...and so emotionally moved by his story. People who did not cry while reading the book bawled during the movie. Such is the magic of a truly gifted performer...Alan is a rare talent, and one whose works will always be remembered. He has blessed us all by sharing those talents with us.

  • @surefireangels Amen, I think you said it perfectly :)

  • I haven't seen any of the Harry Potter movies but this was very moving! It's so nice to see you do more videos. Bravo, bravo, bravo!

  • @zeldathornton Thanks, for a long while I didn't feel like making any, and the 40th birthday video I did for RA kind of kick started my love of vidding again.

  • Loved this! I really enjoyed how you presented this whole video and your clip choices. Stunning!

  • @FairyKingdom86 Thank you, and glad you liked it. I just love Severus Snape <3

  • Beautiful, beautiful editing! This video touched me so deep. I love the clips you put in of grown-up Lily.

  • @skyeswe95 Thank you, I thought it might make a nice change to have the actress that played movie lily in the video a bit more, people so often have to find clips where its not even the same actress, but then GS has not got a huge catalogue to fall back on lol.

  • Beautiful

  • @RA4JVC Thank you :D

  • I don't have a great passion for Harry Potter, but I'm a big fan of your vids. Always watch them with great pleasure. You always have great ideas and artistic expression. Also, I love your special comments.

    Thanks for sharing. Maddy

  • @Maddy1952 Thank you, I have a bit of a passion for magic and mythical things, Lord of The Rings too, keep wishing it wasn't so long till the Hobbit came out! :D

  • Very beautiful tribute to Snape and Lily, Angela. So sad and beautiful song too! I like how you showed all the times Snape helped and protected Harry too. OMG the end made me CRY!!

  • @HeathDances Thank you Heather and for watching it, Snape's story is just so Greek tragedy lol :D
