I can't imagine all existing fixed bikes out there are suddenly going to be put to rest. I think fixed gear is here to stay. Hipsters aren't here to stay. @tommyogtigern Lol! theres a little more to it then that. Pedal fowards and the bike goes forwards. Pedal backwards and the bike goes backwards. There is no freewheel mechanism. Just solid cold hard steel for a gear. So it can be hard to just stop pedaling in order to stop the wheels if you are already going very fast. But with a little bit of practice one can do it.
