Final Thoughts on the Vudu High-Definition Video Player

VUDU looks nice and all -- am sure its great High Definition Video Player -- wish iTunes Store had HD content in 1080i and/or 1080P like VUDU's HD and HDX formats. I got a new Apple TV a few months ago (September 2009) because I wanted a player with wireless capabilities, and I had already bought a lot of TV and movies from iTunes earlier which would only play well on my TV via an Apple TV.

Plus I could even rip a few of my DVDs for personal fair use to sync to Apple TV. Not possible with VUDU

It has potential but Iomega Screen Play HD with multiple support formats is rather awesome. If you own a P3, Xbox360 you can network directly to it via Cat5E all in all the price is the controling factor! If Hollywood Video and Block buster can allow me to rent on program packages unlimited movies around $24-27.99 amonth with no rental time limit? or quantity? thats a good deal. Vudu I believe will get there in time, but its key is in offering only 0.99 to 1.99 rentals only!

Now it's in the store for $149. If you like movies this is awesome. I have Tivo, Xbox360, and Vudu. You cannot compare the video quality between netflix and vudu. It's not just upconverted 1080p, it's actually awesome video! They have a free trial so what's to lose? P.S. Any electrician can run a cat5 to your TV or stereo shelf for around $100. Don't go wireless!! Wireless and HD streaming isn't quite there yet!

What I wish they would do is improve the control via web so it could be a reliable HD network ad player. It would be a great marketing move for Vudu.
