@tatsmorgan as one who has a decent Chewbacca outfit, unless you get permission off Mr Lucas or get someone who has made their own, the Rubies Collector's Edition Chewbacca is the best option. But for the joke it did well, but if they weren't on a budget it would have been nice to see a better outfit

One of my friends made a Chewie that looks as realistic as the original ( I've seen both the real one and I have trooped with my friend in the Rebel Legion in his). He says he can make his Chewie for around $350...only issue is that it takes a lot of time to make the costume look perfect. I think if they spent even an afternoon working the fur, it could have looked a bit more realistic.

@kamranos I have worn the Rubies costume before and you can see they did work on it, the only problem with the Rubies version is the hair is Faux Fur and sticked on 5cm apart from each other and the head is basically a latex hood and don't get me started on the latex bandolier. All they could really do was brush it up and add extra padding and a strap so the head fits better. Even so modding the Rubies is more expensive than to make one from scratch.
