I also agree that this one sided "comment-approval" is bunk, you want open forum, then open it up....makes me wonder about the validity of this post altogether......
I can see 8 of them out my front window and have never heard of any ill-effect until today, this is strange to me, I just read two independant wind farm studies and both say there is no emission of any type from these turbines but they do mention a low hum and "shadow-flicker" issues, where can I find out more about this...i.e. (independant) studies which confirm or atleast mention health risks..? I'd like to know more before they are on my doorstep....
Isn't it amazing how no one who has a turbine on their land ever complains of health problems. Magic cure = the fee you get from the companies for hosting them. This is nothing but local politics of envy translating into psychosomatic whinging.
i use to live near one and on one visiting my friends farm alot of times and guess what.. they dont get sick nor does the noise bother us.. i guess anyone wanting it to be a burden really will be.. so stop complaining until you live on one thank you very much
i wish all these freaks that dont want wind or solar panels/turbines out of this country has they dont do anything harmful besides make a lil loud noise and also save the earth from our harmful ways.. so anyone against this is just a murder on our mother earth... so stop protesting against things being eco-friendly and get your ehads out of your.... yes you guys can read my mind... and also in canada stop protesting against wind turbines in the water study's both civil and gov both say its safe
all of you are stupid. wind is one of the cleanest energy source there is and you all sit there and bitch. if you would rather you could have a giant nuclear power plant right there. they make just as much sound and they pump out smoke and wait NUCLEAR WASTE that remains on earth for 50,000+ years. untill you really know the facts please shut up.
Few things are more frightening than a government that doesn't want to be confused with the facts, because their minds are made up. Good energy plans exist! Check and subscribe to my channel and prove me Im wrong.
Wind is inconsistent. Even redoing the grid wont solve that issue. Base load needs to be maintained on spinning standby at all times to augment wind erratic nature. Thats why Ireland banned wind power on their national grid and why Spain and Germany have stopped their wind projects. Without subsidies wind is toast. But to imagine 100s of thousands of these towers all over the land is hard to take! Its easy to like one or two , but thousands of them!
Wind power is a bad idea. It doesnt add any power to the grid because it fluctuates, and puts more relieable plants on standby, JUST WASTING FUEL AND ENERGY. It takes 2-3 days to start a coal generator. GO NUCLEAR!!!! WIND IS BAD.
Note that Smitherman didn't even have the courtesy to stop and talk to these people. He sailed right on by, head slung low, pretenting no one was there. Shame! on you Georgie. Note also in the present standing committee meetings, he is also refusing delegation from some of these people wishing to relate the problems they are living with. "Few things are more frightening than a gov't that doesn't want to be confused with the facts, because their minds are made up" Lorrie Goldstein.
Raptors are extinct? Uh, you're a real rocket surgeon, aren't you Wind09. Bald eagles, hawks and peregrines may become extinct if people like you have their way. So how much are you making off this scam?
Nope, don't live near a wind factory. But I do know of MANY people badly affected by industrial wind turbines and who do live within 2 km of a turbine. Some of them even signed on for them, yes they are being "compensated" to live with the noise and health problems. They also sign a nondisclosure clause when they signed a lease and can't talk for fear of being sued. They believed they could help make a positive change in the world. They were told the same lies you are pushing right now.
As for the bat issue, well that depends who's studies you read, raptors im pretty sure were extinct a few million years ago and the division is only created by closed minded people like yourself who are unwilling or unable to adapt to change!
lorrie, i suspect you are one of the unfortunate folks who live near a windfarm, perhaps in close enough proximity that you can see them even, but are not fortunate enough to have one on your land, therefor are not reaping the monitary benefits of the turbines. Funny how the people who complain about the noise and health issues are not the ones who live closest to the turbines.
Are you kidding me? This is the most ignorant thing I have ever read! YOU evidently don't live close to any of these 500' MONSTERS or you'd be singing a different tune.... The unsuspecting farmers who are being lulled into a false sense of security and financial benefit don't realize that when they they sign on the dotted line their rights are GONE!!!!!!
These people are trying to tell you something VERY important. Dearest WindISGreat, there are some empty houses in Shelburne you should move into so you can find out FIRSTHAND how great wind power is. Idiot.
WindPowerIsGreat if you like to give your neighbours serious health and noise problems, give wind companies guaranteed payments and big tax write offs, if you want your electric bill to go up 30%, for fragmenting the natural habitat of animals, killing bats and raptors and creating division in every community it is ever proposed in. One thing it isn't so great at is producing the power we need.
the only noise these things create is the whining and complaining from you people. find something better to do and let it go, they are here and theres nothing you can do about it, if you dont like it move!
Hey windpowerisgreat09, I have a bungalow, with brand new detached garage on a nicely landscaped 1 acre lot, ready for sale and probably even at a great price. Let me know if you, or any of your family or friends are interested because we can give you a quick closing!!
PS It has been agreed that our property is unsaleable. A wise man does not speak out on things he knows nothing about.

@caribousteaks "Thats why Ireland banned wind power on their national grid and why Spain and Germany have stopped their wind projects."
I can name dozens of countries where it's actually a great success and where a lot more windmill parks are planned.
