Betty Grable as Vicky Lane John Payne as Dan Christy Carmen Miranda as Rosita Murphy Cesar Romero as Victor Price Charlotte Greenwood as Phoebe Gray Edward Everett Horton as McTavish Harry James as Himself Jackie Gleason as Commissioner
Fox Fluff--but what fluff!! The divine Carmen, great songs (I had the Greatest Dream, etc), the divine Betty, funny Charlotte, great scenery, great dancing, funny plot--what more do you want?
I found some old letters my father wrote to my mother in 1943 when he was a soldier in the Army in 1943. He mentioned this movie, among others...Glass Key, Desperate Journey starring Ronald Reagan. I never heard of these movies as much as I love old movies. I'm going to get the DVDs in his memory. He always mentions going to the movies in his letters. He was 76 when he passed in 1995 and my mother was 95 when she passed last year.
I love this series of musicals--they make formula look like, hmmm. Well the music is great... Sadly, this turned out to be one of the lesser works of this factory run. Even the great dance ending was so much noise and arm waving--unlike "Song of the Islands", "Weekend In Havana" and the better efforts in this series.
Still, I'm glad you put this up--it's not available otherwise.
Cannot believe I am seeing this clip!!!! have tried unsuccessfully to purchase a dvd of this great Grable film do you know where it can be bought in UK.
@TheMaisie80 My brother recorded this movie off television for me back in the '90's. As far as I know, it isn't available on dvd anywhere. Sorry I can't help you!
@bbcisrubbish Nothing is more wonderful than finding "treasures" on Youtube: the films we always dreamed of seeing (and hearing), or the films we saw long ago and cannot forget. Apparently, "Springtime in the Rockies" is such a film, and I am very encouraged by the wonderful, positive comments I've received!

@SASORI707 . I have just been watching the film. Wonderful, thanks a million.
The music of Harry Warren and Mac Gordon is superb, my favourite composers.
If you get the opportunity to up load other American musicals it would be greatly appreciated.
The UK is totally barron of this style of entertainment.
