We do not have hard water, I have only used Biolage and paul mitchell for years and Now I am using FAST..

I also use some type of gel, mouse , lotion otc, for curling prior to heat styling. Also my hair is dark brown and I know that plays a factor.. Blonds, for some reason have thinner, lighter hair.. I could not just hold up my hair and spray it in place.. I even tease, and it just ratts up!!!

My hair just sucks.. that's all.. :]

Charity, I don't consider my hair super super super thick.. I have had it thinned in the past... BUT I will say I am growing it out as for years it had short layers in it and permed.. So the layers are long now, and my hair is almost all one length, no bangs anymore.. It perms very well.. so well I will have perm for 2 years!! But for some reason the rollers or the spiral iron doesn't do well. The Curling wand however? It is fabulous!! I won't give up though!!! Loving my FAST stuff :]

I have those curlers... BUT.. My hair will not curl like that.. it is thicker.. turns out looking so 70's... Horrible.. My Conair spiral iron I bought a few weeks ago does the same.. Mine is not thin like yours.. not as long, but at my Bra strap { can I say that?!} Anyway, I get so frustrated, because I try and it just doesn't work..

HOWEVER-- Tomorrow will be ONE WEEK since using my FAST shampoo and cond.. My hair looks and feels fantastic.. Softest it has been in YEARS! Growth? don't know yet
