  • Slow down you crazy child, turn your cell phone off and disappear for a while.

For you kids who don't understand taking a phone off a hook.

  • @DLooyenga Take the phone off the hook means to call someone, stupid.

  • Litary the first time I heard one Billy Joel song he became my #1 favorite singer well right next to Bruce Dickinson and my friend however besides them Billy Joel is my favorite. I love piano everything now.

  • Lol...the OLD PEOPLE ACTUALLY RULE in VIENNA. With 20 I felt like I am a very rare creature here.

  • It is true, Vienna is a interesting place. full of history, great thinkers, comedians, musicians etc. I live there, I hate and love it.

  • I disagree strongly that you "have to be crazy" to live in Germany or Austria, that's ridiculous. That's like saying "ew, how can you live in the south of the US, people used to have slaves there."

    It's a great song though, I like it.^^

  • i live in vienna ^^

  • So brilliant. Music barely has such deep and layered meaning anymore. Would do anything to see him live.

  • "It's a place of uh..of intercourse."

  • @no27i lol. I had to lol at that... "A filthy audience," indeed

    ;D

A little tidbit of interest for the song and here I thought it was all about younger people rushing thru their lives, and to learn to slow down and smell the roses. Learn something new every day, eh ?

  • @mintgumdropz1 haha yeah i thought the same until now, but i still love the song.

  • @no27i lol.

  • One of my favorite songs, glad to know why he chose Vienna, one of my favorite places in the world too

  • @gmhmilenio never been there, but would love to go there, one day :)

  • What was Billy saying during the 8:46-8:52 mark? Is he imitating a German accent? If he is, how would it be translated to English?

  • @JeffK1980 Yes, it was a stereotypical German accent and he was saying, "Yah, come, mein liebchen." The English translation would be "Yes, come with me, my darling.

  • Brilliant Entertainer!

  • @1jfecteau yes he is, a legend. NY is lucky to have him.

  • now i understand <3

  • Go Vienna!

    I live there :)

  • @xiomilolo lucky you. I think Heath Ledger's film, Casanova was filmed there? I love Vienna, I first fell in love with it, from Beethoven.

  • "It's hard to imitate an accordion... nahh nahh naaaah naah nah!"

What a fabulous man :) I must see him live one day...

  • ohh nice 26 ppl like this and 0 doesn't.. cool!!

    i love his metaphor...!

  • I like this song even more now! He wasn't even 30 when he wrote this beautiful song.

  • he can be a teacher too LOL grade 11 social studies

  • Totally different than how I'd always interpreted it. Vienna is a very musical city and Billy Joel is a musician, so I figured the song was about making it big in music.

  • I love how he connects with his audience. He seems like the guy from down the street, a real person.

  • @JDzombaK So true !!!

  • What a genuine person. Great advice, great music.

  • Thank you! this was great

  • Thank you.

  • thanks so much for uploading this!

  • he is the way. he is music!!!
