actually mick and james are kinda equal when they are playing live they often switch off, like one moment jims doing leads then another verse mick would be doing the leads, and infact jim root writes alot of the solos well i know for fact that he wrote psychosocial's solo at least, i find jim to be the better guitarist cause he seems more alive on stage, but skill wise on guitar i say they are about the same

30 30 150 is a couple of things. It's a type of shotgun shell, also 30-30/150 is code for nuclear annihilation.

The song is about the generation corey taylor grew up in, and what past generations said about his.

ya but jim plays all the larger solos anjd he mastered guitar effects like psycososhal mix starts the solo realy fast , it gets passed to james who uses a few effects and the main part of the solo and then ends in a fast shred, mick just looks like he is better , i mean he looks cooler people (waNT HIM TO BE BETTER) BUT THEY ARE BOATH GREAT

james and mick are both very talented guitarists but in slipknot the lead guitarist is Mick. james does rhythm for most songs and then certain songs they split or share doing lead for certain songs. i find Mick to be a better guitarist because of his stage presence and his fast guitar licks

@SymbolicX5461 Wrong, I think. James is kind of the lead guitarist in Sipknot. He's got awesome kickass solos (on Dead Memories, for example). Mick sometimes plays some licks (beginning of the solo on Psychosocial on live, for example, but the whole solo on the studio song was played by Jim), but most of the lead stuff belongs to Jim. In Stone Sour, James and Josh share the lead work, and they're both freakin amazing.

For example : "support a natural backing track to the lead guitarist with playing mostly power chords" - maybe this applies to slipknot, but any other great metal band such as Megadeth, Metallica, Slayer and even some songs by Pantera will make your statement a largely bias opinion. Mick is good, technically, but no guitarist is greatly appreciated by other musicians for just playing fast.
