  • Thank you for the music, Eric!

  • Amazing Eric Woolfson. I never forget you. Never!

  • God bless Eric and his family. He will live forever because of his music.

  • GRAZIE

  • We Miss You. R.I.P.

  • This is a rare chance to see Eric play in video. Here we can see these songs as he initially wrote them, on solo piano and without lyrics. This video is one of his last gifts to us fans, as he recorded it in its illness two months before passing away.

See more videos in the playlist "Eric Woolfson: piano, musicals" on our channel.

  • beautiful ... he is missed greatly.

  • C'est un sacré bon pianiste !!

  • Piango addolorato un grande e stimato professionista. Non potrò mai ringraziarlo abbastanza per le emozioni che mi ha regalato. Antonio.

  • RIP Eric Woolfson

  • Any chance of hearing the whole meddley? it is cut short, I think.

  • Does anyone know when Eric played this medley?

  • yes

  • He does most of the piano for The Alan Parsons Project

  • I mean when did he make this video

  • @ohl1316 The medley was most likely been recorded shortly before it was posted, that is, two months before Eric departed.

  • Thanks Giorgio.

  • RIP Eric.......you're missed.

  • Rest in peace eric!

  • Grandissimo...ci mancherà....

  • Que mal pex. Si hubiera muerto muchos años atrás quizás más gente lo habría sabido.

  • Erick un virtuoso, descanse en paz

  • I want to see him playing more songs

  • I fear it's not possible. Did you read what it's written in other comments?

  • but.... tragically..... is dead.

  • RIP Eric Woolfson. You was a great composer. We will miss you....

  • What a sad day to be sure. God is enjoying his music upstairs... what powerful songs and total enjoyment he has brought to our lives. His music lives in my heart and always will.

  • still can not believe that this great man has died... this year will be remembered forever for the death of great music idols, no doubt....

  • I can't say how sad I am -- there aren't words. But I can't say how happy I am, either -- I leave that to Eric. "Remember that you were a friend of mine."

I will remember THAT blessing in my life forever! And I hope I remember it when, or IF, I ever live to be old and wise.

  • The last line sung by Eric in his latest album "EW sings the APP that never was" is "If you remember me, I am immortal".

  • Rest in peace, dear Eric. God needs you in heaven, now.

  • It is a sad day for all of us APP fans. I want to express my remorse and sadness for his passing. I wish I had seen him and APP live. They are my favorite band of all time and have changed my life for the better. God Bless you Eric. Please rest in peace knowing you positively effected many lives in this chaotic world.

  • Erick ya es inmortal, se lo ha ganado por propio derecho.

Ahora ya estara armando una sinfonia vanguardista junto co Rick Wright en el cielo.

    Erick Wolfsong viviras por siempre.

  • RIP Eric Woolfson, the fine songwriter and piano musician for the Alan Parsons Project...thanks Giorgio for this sentimental video!

  • I just shared it. It's Eric which must be thanked. One of his last gifts to us fans.

  • We have now lost to classy rock pianists so close in time. Eric Woolfson & Richard Wright.

Both made such thought provoking beautiful music.

  • RIP ~ Thank you for sharing your art with us.

  • I am shocked. The world will never forget this amazing musical legend. I hope he's in his own idea of paradise now.

  • Yes, the One in Paradise

  • Grazie Eric. Luca - Italia

  • RIP Eric. Your music will live forever.

  • Eric Wolfson passed away on December 2nd 2009.

A great loss to all that enjoyed his talent and company.

    My condolances

    Ben Liebrand

  • I'm deeply sad to report that Eric Woolfson passed away on December 2, 2009, at 3AM in London, after a long struggle against cancer.

My thought is first to the family, but also to the lots of people with collaborated with him (firstly Alan), and to the fans, many of which, thanks to APP, are my friends.

We lose an artist of unique compositive style and also piano playing, as seen in this video which, as I explained below, is a unique gift for us fans.

    Giorgio Rizzarelli

  • Giorgio, my good friend, i need to know if this is true, this just cant be, i didnt even know he was sick, please, tell me this is just a bad joke. please...Al.

  • It's not a joke. The announcement has been done on Eric's Facebook page, where hundreds of people sent messages of support and still do. The event has also been covered by some media. Alan is currently at Night of the Proms in Germany (also John Miles is there of course) and dedicated a song to Eric.

  • This is fantastic! Hopefully Eric would also sing a medley of his best songs while playing the piano also. Thanks for sharing.

  • Hi midi. Happy you liked it.

I don't think Eric would sing in a video like this.. But if you like his voice, I should tell you he's realizing a series of albums in which he completes APP abandoned songs, and sings all lead and background vocals. The Vol. 1 is already published, calles "EW sings the APP that never was" (for info see on my channel link to official site).

  • ERIC passed away this morning !

    nevermore

    NEVERMORE !

    NEVER !!!!

    Rest in peace ERIC !

  • He's still the number one. Congratulations

  • Maravilloso y emocionante

    Saludos desde SANTIAGO CHILE

  • Eric should realise how admired and loved he is all around the world, if he could only understand how bad we dream about the chance of getting to see him on stage; one show Eric, thats all we want, one night only...

    Please, share your magic.

    Thanks for the ad Giorgio.

  • You're welcome (and I see that various other friends, to which I sent this, are leaving nice comments).

Eric is not the type of person to play on stage, but a concert in Abbey Road isn't an impossible dream.

  • The talent of this man knows no limits...!

  • oh !

  • ~awesome piano melody of APP songs by a master of the keyboards...sweet!~

  • thank you for posting this nice performance of your works.

  • so sweet and mind-blowing music

    Bravo!

  • A beautifiul medley from a genius!

    3 songs x 5 stars = 15 stars :-)

  • very nice!!

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • eric used to come into the white horse up the road from his house in kent when we used to run it. didnt realise then what a fantastic musical genius he was! just thought he was a top bloke and a lovely gent. hello eric if you still remember us, harry and kerry x.

  • Hello haltoner. Eric is the writer of The Alan Parsons Project, a progressive rock group which sold millions albums in 70s/80s, just relaunched by Sony. He also wrote various succesful theatrical musicals. On my channel (click above "urbania70") you find the link to the official APP site, and playlists about him. As you say he's a gentleman. He always stayed modestly behind the scenes. This is the 1st time ever he does a video on piano: a wonderful and precious gift for us fans.

    Giorgio, Italy

  • one word for this enjoy, beautifully subtle with some added notes in musical stage expression , love seeing eric in glasses happy fortieth to you and hazel.

  • Wonderful master. Love your music.

    Greatings from Chile.

  • That is some seriously nice performance there...

I would love to listen more songs played like this, perhaps Pipeline or Hawkeye... or maybe a bit of a strange request: Step By Step.

Truth be told, anything would be great!

    Thanks for sharing.

From the furthermost place in the world, Argentina.

    Marcelo.

  • Great pasion my friend!

  • want more... forevermore....

  • SIMPLY A GREAT AND REALLY APPRECIATED SURPRISE!!! WONDERFUL!

Dear Eric, as I suggested you at Abbey Road at Poe Premiere, you should release a full-length album with the best of TAPP performed only by your voice and your wonderful piano. It goes straight to my heart!

  • Just toooooo short :) Thanks so much, Eric :)

    Pascal

  • Great stuff! He is a genius!

  • Nice!

  • Great! Now we wait for other songs...

  • (continued from previous comment)

    - What Goes Up: it was a good surprise for me seeing that we had same idea - my latest fan piano cover is of this song! Nice bass variation on 2:45!

    - In The Lap of the Gods part2: quite appreciated, since not easy to perform.

Thanx also for having filmed this with professional camera movements!

    Giorgio

  • Special thanx Eric for publishing this wonderful medley. I Quote Alec's comment here above. Projectologists know how rare has been, in years, the chance to see you performing on piano in video.

    - Closer to Heaven: It's great that the lowest part of r.h. performs the rhythmic (while the highest does the melody), it's the heart of the song's arrangement. And thanx for the new part from 1:36 !

    (continued in next comment)

  • Dear Eric, I'm very happy for this new Gift from you to us all ^_^ !!! Fantastic !!! ALEC (Italian young fan who attended Poe at Abbey Road in 2003 -second night- along with another Italian fan called Giorgio)
