  • YORK PA!

  • Whenever I hear this, it makes me want to go out and torture and murder some homosexuals and gay paedophiles. Awesome stuff!

  • @captainsurrey Why would you want to torture and murder gay people? Fucked up comment man.

  • @megaterra69 It was a joke. Look up "John Bunting".

  • @captainsurrey Point taken. I retract my ignorant comment :)

  • im 25, live was from where im from, good old york pennsylvania, they aint much respected here which is crazy! love em:) this song touches me as much as of everything theyve done:)------cool story bro:)

  • very good this issue reminds me of school

  • Thanks for posting this entire album! I own it, but sometimes it is just easier to YouTube a song, artist, or album than actually take the time to open iTunes or put the CD in. Cheers and thanks again!

  • omg i love this song

  • Hmmm..."Live"? That almost rhymes with "pure classic".

  • this album got me laid...

  • @mattscottist - Many times...

  • Throwing Copper (1994) is one of the finest American albums of the nineties.

  • @lyonslaforet yeah, it's a beautiful album!

  • The blue print looks 3D to me....hmm I might have super powers.

  • Best. Album. Ever. Not even close. And this song in particular...really got me through my teenage years.

  • This entire album rocks!

  • This album got me through some tough times.

  • yeah....

This is was one of the few times the $20 I spent on a CD was worth it.

    Solid Album.

  • This should truly continue to get emmy's. Breathtaking album

  • First CD I ever bought. What a great album.

  • This whole album opened my eyes to the spiritual search. Just look at the image on the cover. . the devotee holding his holy books and ignoring the harlots.

  • Be Here Now. Thanks to Live for the blood, sweat and love they put into thier music. This whole album is classic but this is the song.

  • I first listened to Live after I saw "In the Army Now". Fucking Hilarious.

  • That guitar riff at 0:24 is fucking perfectly creepy.

  • this album makes me wana rip out the CD player in my truck to put in a cassette deck lol

  • I love this song.

  • lets go hard

  • This song is great

  • ed played in my home town of york n i missed them:( pissed

  • many happy memories of listening to this (loud) while drinking cider in the local park

  • The first time I heard this CD I was, like, 4 or 5... I carried this CD around like a blanket and literally had to buy 3 or 4 new copies cuz I kept wrecking them all!

  • I always associated this song with the album cover... a man being lead to his death off a cliff by an angry mob, or at least that was what I thought it was visualizing. I felt like the song came from a perspective of one person's regret of the mobs activity. Kind of like a more modern and sympathetic equivalent of a pontius pilate.

He refers to the actions as "we" seemingly in reference to a group that the individual witnessing in the song was apart of.

  • Great song, terrible upload quality so I clicked the dislike button, seriously upload it in 128 bit rate or higher or get the fuck off of youtube. And this is not loggins and messina. What the hell is that there for?

  • @robinzhooded You are a regular Mother Theresa... i mean if you're not gonna monitor the video quality and let everyone know of your distaste by disliking, then bravo... someone has to warn people off.. Tool.

  • @pixiescam What the hell are you on about, I like the music, just not this video, you can buy the cd on amazon for less then $1 anyway which I did so I don't have to listen to a shitty upload that must have been done by someone that is tone deaf.

  • The people who disliked this must have NEVER EXISTED.

    Yeah.

You think about that for a second.

  • @wishcraft4u2 the people who disliked this must have been tortured by john bunting while he played this album^^

  • In the movie "In the Army Now" this song played when they were lost in the desert. The funny thing is that when I pulled a combat tour in Iraq, this was the song that always got lodged in my head when I was on mission, in the open nothingness.lol.

  • @soldierguy152 11b hooah camp liberty!!brother

  • @jdub86yc 11B as well my brother. Al Asad air base!

  • I bet Trey Parker could do a sweet cover of this song ha

  • I heard about this band when I was 7 and my older sister took me to see them when she was 16...I love my sister for that because this shit is still amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • this song hits me hard! my cousin drowned in otter creek. the same one they are singing about.

  • @AdventuresOfManTV Did that happen before or after this song was made? Is this song about him? They are singing about a drowning among other things.

  • i live like 10 minutes away from otter creek!

  • heard this song in the move "in the army now" pauly shore lol good stuff

  • badass revolution

  • this is one of those tracks that touches something inside

  • I saw them at the Allentown Fairgrounds in PA With Jeff Beck, Jeff came out and played With them when they played Lightning Crashes, it was awesome. When i first got the Throwing Copper CD, for me in most cases when i play the First song on a CD if I like it then i know the CD is going to be good. The Dam at Otter Creek has to be The best Opening song on a CD in a long time..between 1993-04 their was some great music that you forget about and when u hear them again it Get's you in the Zone!!

  • I saw them live at the Gorge in Washington when they were touring for this album. This was their opening song, and they played the intro on a pitch black stage. I was in the mosh pit, right in front, and I couldn't see shit. Then when the first drum hit lands at 2:00 a HUUUUUGE set of flood lights flashed, and we could feel the heat, it was that bright. There was one flash every drum hit, and it blinded you until the next one, but it was insane. Then at 2:42, the lights came on. best show ever!

  • i fuxin love yhis song and this entire album...i saw live when i was 5 or 6 and remember asking my mom if i could sing the cuss words.....my adolescent life was filled with rock concerts and that one is one of the most memorable

  • and.. it still gives me chills.

  • Funny at 62...My Dad burned me Two Kings of Leon CD's and was really shocked no one, including me..knew who they were. (The First 2 at the time they were out! What a Cool Cool Cat my dad is. Tomorrow he celebrates his B-day with Martin Luther King Jr. Two Great Guys!!!

  • Every song on "Throwing Copper is fantastic...played the shit out of it in 96-98!!!! Bought Mental Jewelry (before this CD) to check it out and heard "Pain Lies On The Riverside" and became a Serial Rapist on the Replay Button!!!! Made My 60 year old Dad a CD of them and he was as impressed...as I was at 4 years old when he jammed Led Zeppelin Pink Floyd The Doors The Moody Blues, Jimi Hendrix, Alice Cooper Elton John.. and the list goes on.

  • watching the movie in the army now and heard this song - forgot all about this band!

  • I miss music of this day where it came from the heart, not from some beat machine.

  • Epic song from an Epic arrangement of music. Still gives me chills too.

  • Loggins_and_Messina?

  • @donut1005 no sir.

  • @666MartyB666 LOL, I know, right? I wonder why they put that.

  • @donut1005 actually yes.

  • im from york..pa hometown of live n they forgotten..makes me sad grew up to this shit AMAZING band

  • great music. this is the first cd album of LIVE that i own and that was years ago. it still amazes me to listen to their music..feels like listening to your own soul.. deep, profound , melodious, anguished at times but always, always enlightening.. that's Live for me..

  • LOVE THIS SONG!

  • Im proud to say this was my first cd i ever owned, when i was 6 years old. Now im 19 and i still listen to it constantly, epic album from start to finish.

  • @marc91crx in my opinion due 2 consistency its the best alt rock/grunge album ever made. ur a wise guy who was educated in the ways of real music from a young age, an its a shame thers not more kids like you insted of listenin 2 the modern shit :P

  • @satansskidmarks Lol. thanks man, i agree. My little 11 year old bro is followin my footsteps as well. Gotta keep the real music alive

  • @marc91crx same same same

  • @marc91crx uh for some weird reason I cry whenever i sing this! Why?

  • I lost this CD then when my dad started the CD on a road trip i was like what the hell where did you find it he was like it was on the boat where u left it. LMAO

  • Cool story bro.

  • it's nice living only minutes away from where this song gets its title

  • lol I like this song so much, I ordered whole album just because of this song

  • I finally found this song, looked everywhere but couldn't find it

    absolutely love this track

  • I must admit the first time I heard this album back in the '90's I was stunned. Great, great stuff!

  • You can put this album on and just hit random and get an awesome track.

  • Forget downloading this album, it was more than worth it to pay for it.

  • this song is sad... kinda

  • i love this song

  • Probably one of the best albums from the 90s, so inteligent. It takes you to a mountains like Twin Peaks or something.

  • I love that the whole entire song is just a big climax

  • @mellowoliveh2o Very good observation, Never thought of that....Just thought it was intense and personal

  • first song of my first ever album.

  • be here NOW!

  • You boys need to relax.

  • i miss the 90's so much :-(

  • After all these years... :::goosebumps:::

"When all that's left to do is reflect on what's been done, this is where sadness breathes... the sadness of everyone"... Phenomenal! I saw them live when I was about 15... Blew Me The F*ck Away! Ed is a genius! Forever a fave! Throwing Copper is undeniably a PERFECT album! WOOH!!! :o)

  • my Fav album :) I love The Live <3

  • top 5 aldum of the 90's!

  • Be here now... you are a spiritual being living with your eyes closed... when you are born again your old man dies... you bury him in a creek and you are able to be here now...

  • This is a hidden msaterpiece. So eerie and menacing. It should have been a bigger song, but the lowest common denominator for radio and FUCKING MTV wouldn't have it.

  • You guys know they fired Ed right?

  • I'll never forget the time I first heard this song start. I was captured from the first sound. Utterly perfect, makes my hairs stand on end some 15 years and many experiences later. "BE HERE, NOW" should not be taken lightly. It's all you've ever had and ever will have.

  • Great tune.

  • throwing copper is one of the most mysterious yet underrated masterpeices ever produced by an alternative rock band

  • HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • You are so right.

  • Seconded!

  • well said

  • @outlawcountryman hell yes bro. hell f-ing yes.

  • @outlawcountryman could never agree more with any statement I ever did hear in the English language dude.......

  • @outlawcountryman too right my friend, special and massively underated band

  • @outlawcountryman It is all about Ed. Ed shows his idol singers but yet he is so different. Ed is different, and that is a good thing

  • @outlawcountryman generally live is extremely underrated... :/

  • @outlawcountryman Only underrated by unimportant people. This album is eternal.

  • @outlawcountryman I think Live in general is far underrated, I don't know of many bands out there that can just fill a room, every time I hear one of their songs it always seems brand new, LOVE IT!

  • @outlawcountryman hear hear :)

  • @outlawcountryman Amen to that!

  • One of the great album's of the 90's in my opinion. I listened to "Throwing Copper" so much, I know it in my sleep. Saw them @ Saratoga Performing Arts Center some time later, just a great band. Hope they come back to Phoenix again soon.

  • Still gives me chills.
