  • Never cared much for Tagliabue. After Ruffo, Bechi was IL RE dei baritoni italiani!

  • Tagliabue was a lot better than Gino Bechi. Bechi's voice lost too soon its softness, due to wrong selections in his repertory.

  • taglibue il migliore

  • Just wonderful- does not do this one justice!

  • The first time I heard the Bechi's voice was when I was 7 years old and, obviously I did not care about lyric and classic music, but I liked so much hearing the voice of this man,on a record given to my family by my uncle who stidied as tenor at that time.I was so impressed hearing this piece as I was fightened hearing him singing the "Credo" of Othello.Good remembrance hearing Bechi, thanks to primobaritono.

  • Listen to Gino bechi singing "La Strada nel

Bosco" it will just blow you away from the

first note he sings. What a voice and sexy

with charmisa. I would have loved to have been

    serenaded by him.

  • Since this is a sing-off - and by the way, I love these sing-offs - I must vote. I vote for Bechi. That is one awesome version. But Tagliabue is also superb. No sense hosting a sing-off if it is a one-sided crush, but on points I vote for Bechi.

  • Thanks! I guessed right, then. The film on DVD Mad about Opera on the BCS label has him singing the Largo, too, but a studio version. Love this live one.

  • Can anyone tell me when Gino Bechi sang this clip? Early, middle or late in his career? Obviously, this is a live performance. Thanks for posting it!

  • around 1950 I believe so early/middle part of his career.
