I really despise the men who held Luka captive. After all the terrible things they've done, they expect a blessing!? So that they would have success while killing more people? They make me sick! Episodes like these are what make ER so much better, deeper than other TV shows.
@naerulinnupesa The scene is more about Luka. His whole character arc has been about extreme deep anger about how he lost his family. Anger at the world & god. In the moment when he is about to die, he finds peace in the simple beauty of the world. He finally forgives & lets go. He finds his meaning(wether god or finally peace). And he starts praying. So heartfelt it breaks the others down some.
When I started watching er I thought that it was just a series about hospital and all but then I've seen those episode about Africa and I realized how great that series was.
Besides, I'm french and I'm surprised that there was that much french in those episodes. I mean it's normal, they're in Africa, in an old french colony but still.
Well THAT IS WHAT an ATHEIST would think. But you and I we both know that there is no 100% proof whether it was a coincidence or there was an interference of some kind supreme beeing (In this case God, considering that "our father" is Christian prayer so only Christian God could interfere instead of allah, buddha or aliens).
@RobertJest1 It depends on the person. Maybe cry, or beg, or some would find peace/strength like he did. The thing about the scene is that its not really about religion. His whole character arc has been about his extreme anger at world on how he lost his family. He was religious his whole life but that made him loose it. What he finds in the moment when he is going to die is finally some inner peace. Its one of best moments on TV. A piece of art.
@RobertJest1 lol. No. I said on the traumatic way he lost his whole family. That is what made him loose his religion. And finally in this moment, his last moment, he finds some simple peace. Its quite a scene actually. One of the best in television. Look at the way his dead friend is lying beside him at 20s . With his arms under his head. Looking almost peaceful after getting shot. The whole scene is a piece of art.
COULD SOMEONE PLEASEE HELP ME! I really need to find the name of the song that plays in the background from 5.31 - 6.30. I think is a woman and she sings with african language or so could be croatian language as well not sure. SOMEONE??
I've been searching all day and I can't find it..so someone please ...
Is not Jamshied Sharifi a prayer for the soul of layla I have already checked.
those were truly the most beautiful and artistic episodes of ER. Sure, everything about ER was great, but these episodes are just...life-changing. I think ER is the reason why I still own a TV, despite everything else. Remarkable, indeed.
Amen !
That saids Luka in his Pray... well He don´t said Amen jeje! but "Oče naš" means "Our Father" in hrvatski. ;)
Does anyone know what Luka is saying when he's praying? I know he's from Šibenik, Croatia and he's a roman catholic but can anyone tell me anything about what he's saying?
I have been looking for that african song in this ER episode for so long, cant remember if there is another one in the after texts, please if anybody knows msg me, please please please
This clip is exactly what I wanted to watch again... Luka's humility before God is clearly what saves his life, and that is worth the journey he had to go through... Beautiful and sad... Thank you for sharing.
I will always have this episode of er in my heart. This episode is a reminder that we all can change the world if we step outside our box. Not just one we all must to rid the world of such sadness. Thank you to all of those great people of ER. There will never be another to ever replace the work you all have done. I guess I will turn off my tv now. I be dam to watch a reality show.
Has anyone figured out what the African song is at the end of the video?? From 5:30 on? Its so beautiful I NEED to know! :)

@RobertJest1 Probably close their eyes and accept that life was over. Prayer didn't save him. Simple coincidence did.
