Yes obviously Dave gained from the experience of being in a band with Kurt, but his songwriting and performance now is completely different to that of his old band mates. He's never turned his back on his orignal band roots, but has instead branched out into his own style with the Foo's. Extremely hard to compare, each have their own merits.
