Well, with all that land and all those sextants to hand one could order it built at that angle.

There was no television or even wireless, in those days so the bookish type along way from home with not much to do, probably thought it up at the end of a long evening wondering about the whole planet and ''where everyone else might be''

It is a narcissisitc way of leaving a permament trace, but not that flash if only his also-dead pals knew about it; till now.
