  • Dave Grohl has been steadily climbing his way to rock n' roll legendary. He's gotten to play with so many rock legends. It's mind-boggling.

  • You see that?

Fucking rock n roll history man! \m/

  • genial!!!!!!!!

  • Does anyone know when this was? I notice the giant "Liverpool" at the top of the stage so now I'm just gutted that I missed Macca and Dave in my city

  • HELTER SKELTER WITH DAVE GROHL! THATD BE AMAZING! NOW MR.McCARTNEY

  • INCREDIBLE!!AMAZING!

  • The Beatles + Nirvana = Legendary

  • Dave Grohl's the shit. I got here from a video of him playing with Scream, the band that he dropped out of high school to join. Then the other related videos were him in Nirvana and now one on here is him playing in Foo Fighters with two members of Led Zeppelin to a sold-out crowd at Wembley Stadium. Fucking brilliant guy. =]

  • its very hard to top this but imagine kurt cobain and john lennon

  • @mattelfigsacdc1 Let's be thankful that can't happen because it would have been so epic that the entire population would excessively jizz themselves, causing a worldwide infidelity and eventually, the extinction of the human race...

But it would probably be worth it.

  • WOW. Sir Paul uses more Mesa/Boogie cabs than most metal bands.

  • eu tava lá \o/

  • This is truly amazing for me. I just think of Kurt's love and admiration for John Lennon, now Dave is jamming with Paul. It's somewhat of a connection that never got the chance to happen. The Beatles and Nirvana, my two favorite bands from two different decades joined together. Is this real life?

  • awesome

  • I've been a Beatle fan since '63, when i was 7 years old, (do the math), and I Love "Wasting Light." One of the best albums of '11 to be sure. I've followed David since Scream, and he continues to amaze. He and Abe Laoriel drumming on the same song was definitely overkill. Abe is an amazing drummer in his own right, and a solid harmony singer.

  • @bender1011001 you forgot Queen

  • Tom Petty, Neil Young, Paul McCartney, Queens of the Stone Age, Them Crooked Vultures, Led Zeppelin, and of course Nirvana and Foo Fighters. Dave has had one of the most under appreciated careers in music history.

  • ROCK 'N' GROHL !!!!!!

  • It would have been nice if Grohl were the only drummer playing... I could barely hear his cymbol crashes; and Paul's drummer seemed to carry a louder beat (which is almost impossible with Grohl's playing).

  • Incredible piece of greatness...Perfect

  • Hi. What is this from? Would love to see on dvd..

  • @bender1011001 Not to mention Roger Taylor and Brian May from Queen toured with him for a while. He's been around the entire freakin' pantheon of rock gods.

  • Dave is the Phil Collins of his generation

  • @Donnerbox Except Grohl still has his hair. :-P

  • @bender1011001 u forgot Tom Petty, Neil Young and Eddie Vedder. Daves the fucking man lol

  • Dave Grohl is just living his dream as a musician playing on stage with his Idols the legends of rock, too many to name! He came from a great band like Nirvana and now the Foo Fighters but that doesn't go to his head. He is a humble musician that has respect for the pioneers of rock. He is like a kid living his dream and itsshows!

  • hoooooly crap! i've seen Paul, and it's ok, but if see this, I shit my pants right there :O

  • I'm from Youngstown, OH, right next Warren (Dave's hometown) Ytown loves ya Dave!!!!

  • Dave smash in drums!!

  • Comment removed

  • The best about this video is how those are having so much fun making music.

  • AWESOME a Nirvana member playing with a Beatles member thats rock legends.

  • @fredsassy5 A "Nirvana member" no my friend, "THE CREATOR OF FOO FIGHTERS!!"

  • @trailerdoscampeoes Both actually!

  • @fredsassy5 Awesome a FOO FIGHTERS member playing with a Beatles member thats rock legends

Dave has earned his own rock and roll legend status outside nirvana

  • If Paul McCartney ever called my name out, I'd cry and then faint!! :D Lucky Dave!!

  • what a life dave grohl has

  • How awesome

  • i love dave's blue guitar

  • If I were Dave, I'd probably cry hearing Paul McCartney saying my name.

    This video's awesome. :)

  • @bender1011001 Dave would probably be welcomed on any stage that a rock event is occurring. Dave's career is astounding isn't it.

  • Dave's in absolute Heaven! Love 'em & (naturally Paul & Band too). Beating the living shit outa that kit!! Great Post.

  • What end of the ground was the stage? Are the audience facing The Kop or the Annie Road end?

  • I would be totally content with Dave Grohl spending the rest of his career just going around playing random shows and rocking the shit out of other people's songs with them.

  • ohhhh two people from my two favourite bands this is just too good

  • i wonder if dave would have preferred to play drums with him...talk about a sick rhythm section!

  • @bender1011001 Don't forget that he jamed with brian may and roger taylor

  • dave grohl and paul mccartney at the anfield road *_* amazing

  • I'm going to see Paul on July 27, then The Foo Fighters on August 10th. :D

  • I'm telling you that's not the same Paul as in the sixties.. they don't even sound similar.

  • not bad for the undead McCartney

  • mad bastard on the drums !!!!

  • WOW! That's all I can say...WOW!!

  • OH MY GOD. THIS IS LIKE MY DREAM COME TRUE.

  • AMO LA GUITARRA DE DAVE!

  • It's one thing I love about Dave he loves session work with other artists I think that's cool

  • My favorite Wings song.

    Great post!

  • the only song that was played in soviet rusia from outside of rusia xD

  • @bender1011001 he's such an amazing talent!

  • @cindiloohoo552-YOU HAVE SOME GOOD POINTS, BUT THE TRUTH IS MACCA WAS GREAT IN THE 60S - 70S BUT IS COMPLETELY WASHED UP AS AN ARTIST. DAVE GROHL IS WAYOVER-RATED AND PHONEY. I HAVE NEVER HEARD A SONG OF HIS IS LIKED.

  • @MAJORleague32 Wrong---He has a mansion in the Hollywood Hills w/ butlers, maids, Ferraris, etc. Kids get the limo drive to school I'm sure. Do a Google Earth or Virtual Globetrotting search and you can easily find pics of it...

  • @Allareone2 - Yes, Paul McCartney wrote great songs 40-50 years ago. God bless the guy, but he is completely washed up as a songwriter. For some reason he travels the world peddling nostalgia to people who long for the 1960s, he's an embarrassment. Dave Grohl is a phoney rebel singing songs about revolution from his estate in Beverly Hills...

  • @gmd1417 well you lose that one, cause Dave lives in Richmond, VA. You say that Grohl sucks, yet every living rock legend is good friends with Dave. Just take a second and think.

  • @gmd1417 What were the Beatles doing 40 years ago ? Writing songs about revolution and love in their big mansions all over the world!!!!!! (Even in Beverly Hills). Paul likes him, that's ok for me. Why to people you tube artists they don't like ? I can't believe you slammed Macca !! Dude, he is releasing a new album that I just heard parts of this summe (2011) at 60 years old .. whatchu doin' ?? Love/Revolution/Movie Soundtracts...ahh. Live and Let Die - 007

  • @gmd1417

pauls latest albums are some of his best solo work, memory almost full is great, the new firemen record shows he really can do any genre he wants.

he even composed some classical music around the way.

  • @gmd1417 Just caught this reply. Give the guy a break, he's nearly 70 years old. Besides, Paul did some great solo albums that can stand with the best of the Beatles. I'm talking "Flaming Pie" and Chaos and Creation in the Backyard," each with numerous songs that would be considered classics today, had they been written in the 60s.

  • dave grohl its the best.. =)

  • Dave Grohl was within 4 miles of my house... JIZZ.

  • honestly, who hasnt played with dave? nirvana, foos, tcv, qotsa, probot (so that has a shit ton of people like lemmy), tenacious d, paul mccartney, pearl jam. slash, zz top.... i know theres more than that though

  • @hplax20 led zep too, and not just with dave, taylor hawkins sang

  • @randomer6425 oh yeah how did i forget that one? that was pretty awesome.

  • Dave y Paul, mis dos grandes maestros... los amo!!!

  • Dave Grohl > Ringo Starr

  • @JazzBassDude

Really, Dave would kick you for that comment.

Ringo was his first and one of his biggest influences, he even wrote a little piece about how much ringo helped him to realize what a drummer should be like, what he should do, what to play when, and how ringo just had that feel in his playing that, he said ringo really put his personality in those drum tracks, search for it, good read.

whenever he wants some thing like that, he says to the foos drummer, yo, put a ringo in there.

  • @OropherThranduil Wow, Dave would kick your ass for that comment.

"foos drummer"? really? You don't even know his name (Taylor Hawkins)? Don't say that around Dave. Just a warning.

  • @JazzBassDude

i know his name, but that's what dave himself said.

and if i ever will be around dave i surely won#t talk about the foos drummer.

  • he was also the original drummer for queens of the stone age. great muscian!

  • A light history fact about BAND ON THE RUN

Band on the run is Paul's recounting the Beatles breakup, NOT jhis Japan bust (what silly statement) Stuck inside these FOUR walls,(FOUR ? GET IT?) Sent inside 4 ever. (Oh $hit how do I get outta here?) and the classic "If I ever get outta here gonna give it all away to a registred Charity, all I need is a pound a day" is a George Harrison sound bite , in one of those bootleg records and Paul aknowledges IT WAS George's line.

    Happy everyone?

  • Technically , musically and even lirically My Hero is a MUCH better song than anything Nirvana did. Okey "when I heard "Smells like teen..." I was shocked almost as I was when I heard the Beatles for the first time. DEconstruct MY Hero vs "Smells.." If you are a musician Smell is a GREAT formula tune. My Hero .. breaks a shitload of structure and STILL you choke with emotion everytime I hear it. . hey but THAT is ME!

  • Amazing - Forget that Macca looks like David's brother and NOT the grandfather he could be. That is TWO GENERATION apart folks and just PURE exitement kick ass musicianship from probably the two most talented musicans will ever know.

Well, the only two I know who wrote a whole album in a basement all by their lonesome selfs and went platinum.

The mutual respect and honor from both of them is humbling. As a musician , I think I am changing career and become a fruit vendor

  • dave is a better drummer than ringo....

  • @tedtheshed

    Duh !

And David did not dare change ONE iota of Ringos original groove drumming in "I saw her standing there"

Thirty+ years of Drumming evolution and the Ringo sound STILL stands. Wonder what Grohl have been doing had not been for The Beatles . And for the record. David plays his unborn children Beatles music cause "They beter like it.

Gawd damn so the USA FINALLY got itself a future Sir Davif Grohl.

  • 0:25 for some classiness

  • i would kill to see this

  • I was honestly expecting those old ladies at 2:49 to show us their tits

  • we'd like to welcome to the stage... JESUS. I MEAN-Dave Grohl!

  • dave Grohl, reminding me of Animal.

  • @dovestones

lol he looks just like him wailing away

  • This is the greatest thing I have ever seen!

  • call me crazy but I actually prefer Dave singing that song I just love how raw it sounded... I still love Paul tough, the best songwriter of all time!

  • Fuck yeah!! Dave is a beast on drums!!

  • nirvana meets the beatles. doesnt get much better than this

  • like you nirva-na-

  • i think Grohl was happy as a little child to be there

  • ADOOOORO!

    VERY VERY GOOD!!

  • How fortunate we are to witness this event. McCartney had influence on Dave as a kid. How incredible would it be to play with one of your music heroes? WOW!

  • I find it funny how Dave is beside Paul just rocking out.... And Paul is beside him bouncing around... xD

these two are legends and I live them both!! :D -3

  • awesome! I just times a million LOVE Paul McCartney!

  • I think it's funny, the way dave grohl is standing there opposed to paul. Dave's like really playing passionate, while paul is that standing with a sort of cool attitude

  • Cobain was a good songwriter but he barely knew how to use a guitar.. and boring onstage.

Foo Fighters are way more entertaining.. and regarding pearl jam.. they are on a cloud, high above all that ^^

  • ladies and gentlemen mister dave grohl

    ...and then i die

  • ladies and gentlemen mister dave grohl

    ...and there i die

  • Cobain is WAY over-rated! Grohl is 10x the musician, singer and entertainer that Cobain ever was. If he didn't kill himself there would be far less praise for him and he would just be another washed up grunge rocker. I guess it is good in a way that he did himself in because that freed Grohl up to start the foo fighters who created much better music than Nirvana ever did. Pearl Jam is also 10x the band that Nirvana was. I cant stand people who think Cobain was among the greatest ever.

  • @walleyeking23 Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam are nowhere near Nirvana's level. Stop deluding yourself fool. Pearl Jam have been bland rock for over 15 years and Foo Fighters have only 2 good albums being the first two.

  • @RebelThoughts Tbh unless your a famous music critic, infact even if you are a famous music critic, just fuck off. What's the point of posting something bad a bout foo fighters when most people who watch this are gonna like Dave Grohl?

  • @DavythePirate Uhh..I like Dave Grohl. And i'm a big fan. Just because I said that they only have 2 good albums doesn't mean i'm bashing him.

  • @DavythePirate well even music critics should fuck off too dontcha think i mean half of em are just as much assholes as RebelThoughts especially rolling stone mag

  • @RebelThoughts hmm no the foo's are diff subgenre of rock altogether and pearl jam do grunge a diff way than nirvana, notice how all grunge bands sound diff than another unlike with lets say 80's hair metal who generally sound the same, so to compare them is stupid because then your just getting into diff peoples tastes, and you shouldnt say foos and pjam are nowhere near nirvanas level thats not for you to decide you should say In My Opinion the Foo Fighters and Pearl Jam are nowhere near..etc

  • Dave Grohl=f*cking AMAZING!!!!

  • Some people in the "crowd" (dont speak so much in inglish) of mccartney dont know dave grhol i gess because they´re old people...

  • is dave grohl the new phil collins?

  • @joaddun - Nah. That title goes to Rivers Cuomo and what has happened to Weezer.

  • gotta love dave grohl always the most energy on stage

  • gmd1417, 1st off : FUCK YOU ! 2nd : YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE ! 3rd : Stop sucking up oxygen useful people could be breathing you are a pathetic douchebag who should die in a car fire while onlookers point and laugh AND... 4th : when your sad pathetic useless life DOES come to an end... NOBODY will care or shed a tear. 5th : as a matter of fact I suspect there will quite likely be a party in celebration of the planets population containing one less STUPID FUCKER !
  • A match made in heaven. My top two favorite artists playing together. =)

  • Speachless...

  • Nirvana was a band influenced by the beatles, nirvana-the beatles are the best!

  • very go0000000000000000000d

  • mclaxman19-Sorry, but you're the one whose blind and ignorant. McCartney is a washed-up goof who peddles nostalgia, and Grohl is a media-addict who can't stand to be out of the spotlight for evebn a minute. Also, most Foo Fighters releases have maybe one good song and the rest filler. He's way over-rated as a songwriter.

  • @gmd1417

Damn - just watch the FF at Wembley documentary.. THis is a guy who still hangs at his Mom's house when in town. a caring dad, funny as hell and watch him write a middle 8 to finish a song in about 5 minutes go in the booth and one take gutars and vocals. AND he didnt even think he could really play guitar, write or sing. His Windbley concert was astonishing and his break down of emotion at the end just shows a VERY special human being. And THAT is why Pau BOWS down to him. RESPECT!

  • If Macca invited him in, it's because he deserves it.

  • What a cheese-ball Dave Grohl has turned out to be. Maybe he needs to have his own cooking show. that would fit him perfectly. He has made millions selling his phoney "punk rebel" schtick, what a talentless fake.

  • @gmd1417 GTF OFF OF YOUTUBE NOW. Dave Grohl is an excellent songwriter. He is also one of the most amazing drummers out there. I would say almost as good as Mike Portnoy. Now tell me, have you watched any of Daves videos with him drumming? When I see evidence of you writing some amazing songs or playing drums better I will let you off with calling him a talentless fake but for now you shall be known as that.

  • @gmd1417 wow man. if you ever bothered to listen to any of the foo fighters lyrics you would realize that his "phoney punk rebel schtick" is not there...any any of his music. I don't think someone with the title of "The nicest man in rock" would have gotten that with a "phoney punk rebel schtick." but next time man, try to keep those blind and ignorant statements to a minimum, k?

  • @gmd1417 This is pure ignorance. Do you really think that Paul McCartney would collaborate with a "talentless fake?" Or perhaps you think that Paul lacks talent as well.

  • i m going to my first paul´s concert tomorrow. uhul!

  • I just watched Paul play with Neil Young and now Dave Grohl. Man, I've just entered nirvana.

  • Superb!!!!!! Excellent video, rock at its best, cheers for posting this, thumbs up from Foxy!!....

  • Dave grohl is way too under rated, the guy is a hero and deserves to be considerd equal to Mcartney!

  • @ThisisJonnyBell "Dave grohl is way too under rated, the guy is a hero and deserves to be considerd equal to Mcartney!" Uh, no. Not in a million years. Grohl would laugh himself sick at the mere suggestion that he is on the same level as Paul. Dave is very talented, but in an ordinary way, not a genius way. Paul is a true genius, the greatest songwriter of our time, whose work is as alive today as it was when he (and John) first wrote it 40-50 years ago. That stadium crowd says it all.

  • Dave should be very proud. Nirvana was good but would never have been as big if Kurt did not die. But here hes playing with a legend. A real legend.

  • People, you have to stop talking about Kurt Cobain on every Dave Grohl video or John Lennon on every Paul Mc Cartney video. Both are dead, they don't have anything to offer to music or to the world anymore, whereas Dave and Paul have! So stop bringing them up all the time!

  • @MaoriRock

They're not dead, just hiding out in the Bermuda Triangle with Elvis and Tupac. ;)

  • @JackFirestorm Good one man

  • @JackFirestorm A year late, but fuck. that... BEST RESPONSE TO A DAVE GROHL VIDEO ON YOUTUBE EVER. Go tell 'em!

  • maaan! paul mccartney's still kickin ass! yes!!!!

  • If I were in Dave's place, I'd be shitting myself.

  • he's played with half of Zeppelin, 1/4 of the Beatles, Nirvana, Foo Fighters, jeesh. Who's next? The clash? Oh wait, ... or Springsteen? Wait.... fuckall.

  • This concert performance must have been one of the highlights of Dave's life- playing with one of the music world's clear idols

  • Damn! 2 of my idols in one stage = Godlike EPICNESS!

  • Dave is a genius in some genres

Of course he ain't Mozart or Bach or even Paul, but how many artists that are about the same age and can do that ?

And why did Paul want him to drum on one of the shows or why did Tom petty wanted to play with Dave or tell me how the fuck he got the whole wembley 2 night in a row and why does he play with John Paul jones in them crooked vultures? And plus his lyrics have meanings behind em and if read some stories behind the bands he played in you'll see that he'

  • Dave must have been so psyched because at one point he blurted out that Foo Fighters compared to Nirvana were just like Wings compared to the Beatles, as if Nirvana could ever be compared to The Beatles. I think Dave backed off that comment as "pretentiousness".

  • Now he needs to play with The Rolling Stones and it will be perfect.

  • Dave grohl shits more talent in one run of a morning then we express over a lifetime.....the guy is a musical genius.

  • No, he's not a genius. settle down. He is a very good entertainer who can play multiple instruments. He's written plenty of lousy songs. He is also a bit of a clown. I love him. He is great but a musical genius? Try Beethoven, Mozart, Brahms, Bach. Brubeck or maybe McCartney. Have you ever heard Prince play the guitar, like rock and blues lead guitar? That is genius and I don't even listen to his records. His guitar playing alone is genius. Wait until Grohl is 60 before pronouncing him a god.

  • A poor choice of song for Dave Grohl. Band on the Run has a very precise arrangement and Paul's backing band leaves little room for Dave to make any significant contribution.

  • @rykowolf but you gotta admit, Dave can hit the same note Paul hit 20 years ago. Give him a little credit. Who else dare come close in music today. Let's not get carried away. ;)

  • Kurt is jealous of dave for playing with one of his idols

none the less i guess kurt would be proud too.

He rests in the heart shaped box of our souls.

RIP Kurt and Long live Rock.

  • Does dave grohl like the jonas brothers???

  • When Dave Grohl turns up to the shiney gates of heaven, God will look upon him and say "...Wow"

  • AWESOME!!!!!!

  • move on and ditch the cheesy synth!!!!! lol

  • Paul can ROCK like no other!

  • Dave Grohl is the luckiest man on earth! He has played on stage with almost "every one of his living Idol's"! What a gift! And he deserve's it! To stand on stage with Paul, to play beside Jimmy Page, to be the drummer from Nirvana? We all dream of the life of a great "ROCK STAR" But Dave has been blessed with the holy grail of rock stardom! He is living it, every day! In my opinion, if I could be any rock star, it would be DAVE! Because at the end of his life, he can truelly say Life was good!

  • I agree. To overlook Dave is to overlook a great songwriter, a good guitarist, and one of the best still active drummers alive.

  • Grohl is already cool and got used to play with Sir Paul...I wonder how exited he was the1st time he did it..

  • I'm Crying.. My favorit Rock'nRoller Dave Grohl with the great one "Sir" Mcartney. To god to be true !

  • @repoengland

yeah, dave doing the ringo starr.

  • 2 of the most talented artist on earth!

  • I'd like to hear Paul singing Everlong

  • paul and dave should record a duet

  • bob dylan once asked dave grohl to teach him everlong.

  • @BreakingImageFilms thats so cool!

  • 2 rock gods from different eras. together. amazing
