well if your not racing then yeah you can do that.. you'll be forcing the clutch but you can still do it.. i had to always take of in 2nd when i blew the 1st gear in my scion.. then 2nd when out and had to always take off in 3rd, it was hard on the clutch but it worked.. and also in my integra when for some reason it wouldn't come out of 4th that was almost impossible but i only drove it home tell i replaced the tranny..

Well ya, but you dont need a separate tach to tell you that... you czn just get a separate shift light and program it or chip your ecu to use the check engine light to come on at a certian rpm. 2 tachs are not needed
