I've read the short story and watched the film, and I've got to say this is one of the best lovecraft adaptation I've seen. It perfectly captures the feel of the story and the retro animation is really excellent

cool but a hoax (not made in the 20's). Too many things to explain them all:
animation
film deterioration
cut outs
tweens
And lets not forget the 2 layered kaleidoscopic animation.. makes you wonder how "Peter" pulled that off using 1920's techniques.
