How would you compose for the typewriter? I'm guessing they just treat it as it were a percussion instrument, which I guess it is lol.

Yeah, pretty much anything can be a percussion instrument. I played songs where the percussion section had to "play" things such as chains, rocks, wine glasses, and even a broom. lol
The best version here on youtube. I also wish that the whole thing was here. Very nice job.
