Maybe in your mind you see that but that is not the case ACDC is influences by blues and people like bb king but just cause they May have listen to classical does prove anything they still write shite
Oh I like death metal where it just sum body shouting down a mic and there lyric are intelligent whatever you say. You know why I write of metal because they don't know what rhythm is and all the songs sound the same because they distort every thing to fuck.
@Alifyfe1 Death metal vox are hard as fuck, kid. Takes years of practice to perfect. Don't talk to me about vox when you listen to Bon Scott's drunken wails.
What is rhythm then? The generic 4/4 time of rock? The lack of rhythm that you're perceiving is actually rhythmic complexity. Obviously you've never picked up an instrument in your life, or you'd be able to comprehend that. Listen to Beethoven's Große Fuge. That's rhythmic complexity. Listen to AC/DC, that's rhythmic simplicity. Grow up.
@Alifyfe1 First of all, Metallica is just one of the MANY metal bands that I listen to. Secondly, Metallica actually wrote intelligent songs with intelligent lyrics and some semblance of musical talent. Thirdly, if you think that Metallica is representative of metal and all of it's many sub-genres, you're sadly mistaken. Lastly, do a little research before you denounce an entire genre of music. Grow up, kid.
@Natejitsu I am a metal fan, but I also listen to a huge variety of music. This bass is extremely versatile, so I can get a bunch of tones out of it and I can play pretty much anything on it. That being said, if I could go back and choose a different bass to play metal, I probably would. Probably a Warwick. Although this is still a pretty good bass for metal, with the bridge pickup I get plenty of attack and growl. You can check out my other videos for covers to see how it sounds.
Anyways, yeah, I recommend it. The Gibson version of this is actually a short scale, so that might make it an easier transition for you, but I'd still go with this, I love the long scale. But yeah, it's really versatile, you can get real fat, mellow tones with the neck pickup, and then tons of attack with the bridge pickup. Go for it man.
@Bilopicoyusipucus I'm about 6'2", so, yeah. It's a normal sized, long-scale bass, but if you're comparing it to the size of a guitar, then it would seem big.
The slap thing really isn't true I play multiple basses but my favorite is me epi explorer and I go flea style on it all the time and i play a little ahead of the bridge pickup.
How good is it on getting a really distorted heavy tone? Like something out of Repulsion's Horrified to clarify

@PeterSteelePowerINC That all will depend on what effects you're using, but I find that it plugs into distortion really well.

@xXAPPLEGUYXx I don't see why not. I don't know the song, but as long as it doesn't require a five string then you can play pretty much anything.

Not going to even bother telling you where your wrong there but comparing beethoven to the rhythm of metal that is just so fucking funny.
Alifyfe1 8 months ago
@Alifyfe1 Yeah, where am I wrong? You have no idea how much metal is influenced by classical. Whereas AC/DC is influenced by beer.

It not being ignorant it's a fact that metal is for fags and the musically retarded.
Alifyfe1 8 months ago
@Alifyfe1 Oh, and AC/DC is so much more musically intelligent, right? You're completely clueless.
Why don't you listen to this and tell me that it's for the "musically retarded": watch?v=Nzg6UqWgmGc

@Alifyfe1 Wow. The ignorance of this comment is sad and funny at the same time. How about you grow up and take your musical ignorance somewhere else.

@PennybagDarrell I can slap on it just fine, it's just getting under the strings to pop it is really hard to do. The pickup gets in the way for me.
