Wow! I used to own this CD. I love this group. Life in a Northern town is my favorite by them, but I am glad someone posted my second-favorite by them. Thanks.
What a voice... so unique, the best. I love every song this band made. Nick is an incredible talented song writer. Please, wherever you are Nick, your fans need you back. The time is right. I'm dreaming you'd come to New Zealand next year and play at my 50th birthday party on 5 Feb. 2011.
I love this song... it's so powerful and nostalgic, may I say. I know not if you can help me out on this one, but could you possible post THE LOVE PARADE by this wonderful group? I've been looking for it everywhere and can't seem to have any success in finding it.
I remember buying the Dream Academy CD where this song was, then selling the CD a few years later (dunno why). As of today, I can only remember this one song from the CD, it's been sticking to me for no apparent reason (maybe because it's so goood !!! - and sooo Prefabesque too)
To me they were an amazing band. And did not get the success they deserved. Then again a bit like The Blue Nile i did not want everyone to know about them they were my band.
"A different kind of weather" was unfairly ignored when it was released in 1991, songs like this one and "Lucy September" still sound great today (almost twenty years later). It's good to know Nick, Gilbert and Kate still have a loyal following today.
what a wonderful piece of work you have offered us. Watching, and of course listening, take me to another place....like a baby holiday! ....clear the tracks. Thank you for sharing. Might someone know if there is a cover of Lucy September out there? cheerio!
oh my gosh.... you posted my favourite track from A DIFFERENT KIND OF WEATHER! and you matched it with pictures from London! you have just brought back such beautiful, special memories of my trip there! aah, you're sooo nice. you made my day! thanks so much. hugs from canada :-)
This was my favorite track on A Different Kind of Weather.

Love this song! Very wistful and melancholy. I can picture myself at the station, watching the trains pull out of the station.

Beautiful and atmospheric. You can tell Dave Gilmour of Pink Floyd had a strong influence as the producer.

so so rich, great lyrics and the music evokes such romantic imagery a la the "Hats" album of the Blue Nile. beautiful.
