Yes, I agree but you have left out 3rd option- 3. these were honest people (who do not lie), their experience real & was evidence that the Bible is accurate. You have every right to believe option 1 or option 2 & reject option 3-that is the "truth" to you, however genuine Christians have the same right to believe option 3 & not be judged/criticized because of this choice because SOME have experienced evil encounters with people who gave themselves the title of being a "Christian".

p.s Jesus did say (also recorded in Bible) that we would know the genuine Christians by their fruit (their DEEDS). He also said that not everyone who called him Lord, Lord belonged to Him..He said they were EVIL DOERS. Its not hard to see that evident in the "church" today is it? All of that stuff does not prove Jesus does not exist or disproves His great love for all of us. It could simply mean those people are not living in close relationship with Him or doing things His way.

Yes, I have had some experiences with Jesus but never been to heaven or hell. I also know people personally (who I trust to tell the truth) who have had profound face to face experiences with Jesus. You have asked very good questions but Im not necessarily going to be able to answer all of them for you- that still does not prove Jesus does not exist..all it means is that we don't understand everything. p.s. I DO believe that people who have "been abducted by aliens" are telling the truth too & their experience very real. Before I was a Christian - I also had similar experiences. I don't however, believe that they are "aliens". Again, I interpret their experience through the eyes of Bible scripture as much is recorded in the Bible about these things too. To answer your question about the suffering- that is ALWAYS my question to God & one I often struggle with & my answer a simple one I guess...

If what you say is true, explain why the numbers of Christians exploded during the time of persecution by the Romans. The church went from hundreds of disciples to millions, even as Roman was executing Christians right and left. No monuments or impressive buildings. Meeting in secret, hiding in catacombs and sewers for worship.
