Please help. I bought a GeForce 8400 GS 512 MB Graphics Card. I have a HP Pavilion Desktop. I don't know the specs of the wattage of my computer. But my monitor, when I have the graphics card in the computer it shows blue lines funny type of lines I can barley see whats going on, on the monitor. Please give me advice on what to do.
@netnaimo i restarted my computer and my monitor wasn't working, i have 2 ports for my vga cable and the bottom one is my graphics card, i took the vga cable out of the bottom one and into to the top one and it works but i cant play games because its not connected to my graphics card
From what I know if you're power suply is compatible and the slot on your motherboard is compatible you should be fine. You can always check on the hp site or the video card manufacture site for more info. Make sure to download all the latest drivers. I had issues with my PowerDirector crashing and when I downloaded all the most recent drivers I had no issues with crashing the program. I hope this helps....
I have HP p6731a its specs are i7 870 @2.93GHz 4gb ddr3 ram and a hd 4550 I was wondering if I would be able to replace the hd 4550 with a hd 5870? I know alll about the size and power but im not sure if the motherboard will be compatible with it please reply
How come when i start my computer with the graphics card in it and the monitor plugged into my graphics card. my monitor isnt showing any image? is there a way to fix that? because i went and bought like 4 different cords and there's still no image. I dont understand what i am doing wrong.
hi guys need some help with my HP PC i have bought a brand HP last July exactly JUly 25th 2011 but unfortunately that PC it is making sick in my head it sucks , slow and most the time it stays freezing for hour i can barely watch videos on you tube it has been now since three months please can you guys give me some tips help me please
a dude i just got a graphics card and when i put it in my computer wasnt turning on right and when i opend it the card was hot can u tell me whats wrong? o yea and it requirese 300 wat power supply and i only have a 220
@christianAFA my best guess is that you need a a 300wat power supply. Might need it for the fan to kick in. Check with the manufacturer to see what video cards can be added to your motherboard first before buying... anyone else have advice?
hello friend I install r5450 start and when I look at my desk and I had no sound try lowering sound drivers but I could not stand Rhodesia that just do not grab or I can do
woah this is wierd im installing the same video card into the same HP computer andi have the same cup of coffee. like no shit the same exact cup. WHAT THE FUCK
I've got the same comp. How did you get your graphics card to work with the integrated video card? for some reason my new videocard will not play SWTOR or League of Legends.
@ppspsd the card is a ATI Radeon HD 5570 with 1GB Memory on board. I bought the computer at costco and thanks to their consierge service... I called them and they shipped me a new one out, got it in three days. try your local staples, office depot on ebay.
Thanks man, I sat there for a bit trying to pull it out, then saw this and realized I had to unscrew that Gray part xD. my comp looks just like yours. Thanks for the help!
@dabicloud11 yeah I found out that its the power out put that makes it uncompatible I do need a new one but I found a really good one that I can make the price of this but the equivalent of a high end alienware :D
I have the same computer and i want to upgrade the Graphics card but i found out that it isnt compatible with the geforce GTX 560 TI which is what i was looking for, right now i have a ATI radeon 4550 HD
do you know any good graphics card the equivalent of the 560 TI which is compatible? Please Respond
@jackdabomb100 This is just a guess,But I think for something like a 560 TI,you would probably need to get a new motherboard,I have the same computer aswell,And I just bought a low end graphics card,But I dont know if it will be compatible either.
I have a Pavilion a6719f and I'm thinking of buying a new graphics card for it and I'm wondering if anyone knows whats the best one to run games like Fallout NV?
@mhendersonn yours is probably built in he was upgrading his :) i have the same comp and my graphics card is built in and called intel hd or something :)
@mhendersonn they have a lot of variations of computers that use that same case, my computer came in that case and then i put it in a cooler master elite 310 with a windows and put in a video card and a new psu as well as some 120mm fans
@mhendersonn Umm... That's what's called "onboard video". You'll have to get a dedicated card. And upgrade the PSU (Power Supply Unit) when you do. The ATI Radeon HD 6000 series is a good graphics line to consider. And I'd recommend getting a 500W PSU, but make sure it has all the connections that you need. Hopefully this helped.
mine didnt even come with a video card.

Skydogg5555 2 weeks ago
@mhendersonn When you buy a computer from hp or w/e, There is an integrated graphics chipset.
Once you put a new gfx card in the motherboard immediatley changes to the new graphics card.
KingOfAceZ1 2 weeks ago
@mhendersonn Thats because it's integrated. You will want to buy a video card so you can install is on your computer.
CancelOutStudios 2 weeks ago
@mhendersonn you probably have a on board Video card. You can buy a new one and put it into the PCIe slot.
