  • holy crap those tripods look almost exactly like the ones the book describes

  • So how big were the fighting machine models?

  • Oh, where art thou, valiant tripods, during our nations tribulation!

Kill 'em green boys, er buddies, see ye olde hill? YES! That be 'er, the one marked "Capital"!

  • This is actually very very neat. It might be old and some sound effects were used from the 50's movie, but its still neat. Tripods are almost identical to the book, you didnt add the Tentacles though.

  • greatest tripods ever

  • Haha.... This rocks. Love it.

  • YES!! Nothing beats 'Old School Stop-motion' Nicely done! The Tripods are some of the best I've seen, probably because the old-school stop-motion adds the dream like effect to it all! 5 Stars!

  • excellent..I love it.

  • Lovely!! I´m a huge fan of stop-motion. Very well done; especially the scenes with the soldiers.

  • well done! i give this 10/10(if you could rate this 10)! = D

  • nice one dude that was soooooo cool

  • im wotw tripod spielberg

  • no tripod sounds like spielbergs

    wotw tripod call

  • because Spielbergs Tripods are stupid, and this is a completely new style thanks to the creativity of aonl's Imagination.

  • That was sweet

  • I love this video!!! I love RETRO SciFi !!!

  • Hey! its you! LOL!

    i want to scream

and shoot you with my lazer gun

    tripod sound:puaauaaooooooooh!!!!

  • the tripod sound is ULLA

  • THis is better than the OLD american film!!!! lol!

  • 2:33, you have a sick mind, mate :) lol

  • Terrific version. I like the mix of the Orson Welles radio, and the George Pal sound effects, with the Wells tripods. It is a celebration of all the versions of the classic versions of the story.

  • Why the U.S.? It's a British story ¬.¬

  • Good comment...i was wondering why 90% of people accept the american-way of the storytelling!! its a loada crap...and what about the old film...'they fly'???? WTF??!! lol!

  • Actually, in the 1953 movie they make a reference to "magnetic legs", which are invisible, but what the war machines "walk" on. This was done because animating three legs per tripod effectively would have "been too difficult". In other words, it would have cost more.

Love this video, by the way. Excellent work. If you had been in Hollywood in `53 we might have gotten proper tripods.

  • @pcadnezbite its based off the radio show by the orson welles

  • @pcadnezbite LIke you guys havnt made an american film british.

  • Wonderful! Loved the blending of sound effects from the George Pal film and the voice-over from the 1938 radio show. Good use of old-school G.I. Joe's as well!

  • okay, thanks for making me smile, it's was well worth the 3:28 min.

  • MM top secret.... you showed it on youtube its not top secret

  • Top Secret?!?!?! When I saw this video 25,058 other people knew about it!

  • Anyway, well done. Brilliant video! The Tripods look good.

  • Where is this then?

  • Hi aonl, you did a good job, I especially like the tripods.

  • What I want to know is. Did you make the tripods?

  • yes,32 years ago.

  • what did ya make em of

  • They're....wait for it.....AWESOME!!!

  • @aonl How did U make the Tripods and from what?

  • wow your stopmotion movie seems to look like a real 1960's movie

  • one of the best world of the worlds movies ive seen in a long time is War of the Servers. Type it in now.

  • well is it good? hmmmmmmmmm... yes with an ''if'' or no with a ''but''

  • ow! my ears!

  • awesome work- its a really great stop motion

did you use drinking straws for the tripod legs? they're really cool!

  • Yes

  • if it was 1938, why are the tanks from 1944?

  • Hats off! Using the original 30's broadcast with the 50's movie soundtrack. I'm in my late 40's and I still think that sound effect is the best ever done. Great lil' ode!

  • is that stopmotion? if it is its the best iv ever seen

  • cool!

  • u rock! very cool indeed!

  • U made this urself, AWsome. A company made it,pretty crappy even for the 30s.

    great work !!

  • OMG where did you Get this????? how did you get it if it was top secret?

  • very lunnatic and insane...jesus

  • Awesome, I deffinetly suggest you make a version based off the novel. YOu should make one for each chapter, and set it in the 1930s like this one.

  • What is the real secret? Nice job on the video though.

  • verrrry coool man

  • Cool!!!

  • might be fake but still 5/5

  • lol better then the spielberg one

  • thats not how they walk, it cant be

  • Uh the 'Department of Defense' was created by the Defense act of September 1947.

  • No kidding. The men and equipment are also not from 1938.It was just a way to present old super 8 film.

  • Excellent presentation, (I am a historian, so please excuse my previous comment, and keep on doing excellent videos...)
