He was an amazing actor- it didn't hit me until I saw "Four Feathers" nobody ever mentions that movie - a MUST RENT !! amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@adrian199151 you're thinking of Peregrin Took, or Pippin, played by Billy Boyd - he and John Hannah (the actor heard here) are both Scottish, and do sound quite similar.
Nice touch with DeBussy's Claire De Lune playing in the background but when I shuffle off its going to have to be 'Disco Inferno' by Ike & Tina Turner as they roll me into the Cremy.... funerals should be about celebrating the life and remembering the good times so I hope all my friends and family have a chuckle, get pissed and don't feel too bad as nobody lives forever and life is far too short to sit and be sad........
Yes I agree and thank you for your sweet thoughts. You sound very kind and caring- a really nice person you are I sense. Thank you-may you also be blessed with all beautiful things in life. from Rosemary
Yes, I suppose. He was very good to her and she could not manage without him. She was cushioned and protected from anything harsh with him He gave her a fairytale when he married her.Their retirement years were idyllic- they travelled and never had a worry in the world. She was blessed!!
Actually that is true- yes I agree- my own mother loved her husband long after he had passed away and her love never died for him- in fact she gave up living after he passed away as you so rightly say, she could still feel him near her and saw him everywhere and she could not cope without him so she basically started dying to be with him- it is a long long and very sad story but she could not cope without him anymore. He was her life. Now she is with him as you say eternally.
A beautiful poem from WH Auden. John Hannah has such a phenomenal voice for this. Funeral Blues Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone, Silence the pianos and with muffled drum Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come. Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead Scribbling on the sky the message He is Dead. Put crepe bows round the white necks of the public doves, Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
i think it is that man from the mummy who was that eidi's brother. he was on 3 weddings and a funural i think im not 2 sure what his name is hope iv helped u out x
Wonderful tribute ..... great choice of music, film and words. Love John Hannah's voice.

In Italian language :
Fermate tutti gli orologi
staccate il telefono
fate tacere il cane con un osso succulento. Chiudete i pianoforti
e tra un rullio smorzato,
portate fuori il feretro.
Si accostino i dolenti.
Incrocino aeroplani, lamentosi, lassù
e scrivano sul cielo il messaggio:

Pensavo che lamore fosse eterno
e avevo torto.
Non servono più le stelle,
spegnetele anche tutte,
imballate la luna,
smontate pure il sole,
svuotatemi loceano e sradicate il bosco
perché ormai più nulla può giovare.
Thanks for vd
Ciao Heath

OMFG!! How could I think someone wouldn't be genius enough to set this poem to Heath?
And that's what it is... Genius, and so poetically beautiful and true. ^_^

He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now; put out every one,
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun,
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods;
For nothing now can ever come to any good.

Why Debussy? I guess it works, but Auden was no impressionist. What the fuck do I know; they sound beautiful together.

It was tragic. My pity goes out to his family, the daughter he leaves behind. He had a great talent. He will be missed.
