  • awesome

  • add rubber tread to the plastic tiers or change them out for light weight rubber tiers for better traction more speed

  • I'm going to get (1) 12v. But (2) questions, what amp hour, and where can I put it? My boy likes to carry stuff in the "bed". Where did you put yours in the F 150?

  • @MarkJessChandler I use either a 12V 10Ah or 12Ah in the F-150. The 12V 10Ah fits in the stock battery compartment sideways. It's almost a perfect fit. In order to get the 12V 12Ah battery to fit, I had to cut away some plastic using a rotary tool in the fake engine compartment compartment. With either battery, I leave the fake engine cover off. You could run wires to the bed to house the battery. If you do that, I recommend securing the batteries with strong velcro or cable ties.

  • Can I just add another 6v in series? I am planning on getting it from gruber. I don't want to buy a new 12v AND a charger. Also, what's the amp hours on the stock pw battery so I can match? Thanks

  • @MarkJessChandler Yes, you can add another 6V battery in series for 12V. Keep in mind that the new battery will take on the negative characteristics (lower capacity due to age) of the older battery. That is why it is recommend to purchase 2 new 6V batteries or a 1 new 12V battery. The red 6V PW batteries are 9.5Ah. You could go with the 6V 7AH or 6V 12Ah from Gruber. Though, both of those batteries have a 2.5Ah difference from the stock battery which is not good. I recommend 2 new 6V batteries.

  • thanks for sharing this information. I want to get my daughter the escalade but she is a speed demon.

  • @inkme1983 You're welcome! The Escalade is really nice for cosmetic and sound system mods. I assume it would go about 6.5 - 7.0 mph when upgraded from 12V to 18V. There are a number of "Escalade 18V" videos on Youtube for you to watch.

  • @chozian0 I bought her the Escalade yesterday! These videos really did it for me. It was $379 at toysrus. Where do you get the 18v? Also how much are they? I got the last car in the store and the toysrus before that was sold out. I drove a total of 3 hours finding that car. Beats almost 700 on amazon.

  • @inkme1983 I've updated my comments and included them on the Modified Power Wheels site. You'll need to piece together the following URL to navigate to it.

  • do you just buy a bigger battery? or do something with the wiring also?

  • @sabrom For most Fisher-Price and Peg Perego brand ride-on vehicles, it is fine to bump them up by 6V without upgrading the wiring (e.g. stock 6V to 12V, stock 12V to 18V). I used a single 12V battery instead of the stock 6V battery for this F-150. I had to make a minor modification under the hood using a rotary tool for the 12V 12Ah battery to fit. You can fit a 12V 10Ah battery in there without any modification. The kids love the extra speed.

  • @chozian0 nice and thanks for your reply and info.

  • @sabrom I use aftermarket batteries which do not have the same type of connectors as the Power Wheels battery. Occasionally, I'll modify the wiring on the vehicle itself to accommodate an aftermarket battery. Most times, I'll add the same type of connector that would be on a stock battery to my aftermarket battery. That allows me to directly connect an aftermarket battery without modifying the connectors on the vehicle. I use a Schumacher battery maintainer and SC-600A to charge the batteries.
