this started of very fast and percise it looked like real humane movement (squash and sketch) and the lip synch was as prosice as possable. the mouth moved as if the words were acualy comming out of his mouth great pencil test
@iLaviUS This was done by the guy who animated Hades in Disney's Hercules and Frollo in Hunchback, and you're saying the animation was overdone! You must be amazing!
He has to be the best animated Disney character, animation wise, next to Hades. It's just amazing how much expression and movement the animator put into him!
:D i totally agree... personally i think anime is a pretty bad way of animating, the faces all look the same except for the hair, and the characters hardly ever move... call me old fashioned but I'd rather watch this than some anime, despite their so called compelling stories...
@mysticknightskeale Oh god, i hate it when people say: "yeah I draw anime" it's disgusting. I overheard this grade 11 in her art class saying: "I can only draw anime"
Well then you shouldn't even be in art class stupid. Unfortunately, 2D animation is a dying art. But the basics like character design and storyboarding is ALWAYS needed and you need real sketchers to do that kind of stuff! So yey! :)
@FullmetalFury I guess, but I'd hate to see their so called 'art work' and it's a really bad portrait of an anime character and they think it's freakin' amazing. This guy made Frollo too? I can see the similarities between Doppler and Hades (in terms of animation) but Frollo's movements are so vivid and realistic like a real human being (not that the animation on Hades and Doppler weren't realistic) It's just that the others are more cartoony, Frollo sets a nice contrast to his other works
@mysticknightskeale It's still around. But you can blame Michael Eisner for not having as much 2D animation in films. Eisner, wanted to push 3D animation more when Pixar first came out. He thought that 3D was the future of animation and the 2D is a thing of the past. There are some people agree with him. However, the mistake people make is that 2D animation has a place in films as much as 3D. It depends on story and content to choose either 2D or 3D for the film. 2D is wonderful! LONG LIVE @D!!
@mysticknightskeale Sweeping generalizations and rash conclusions curse your line of logic. Granted, I too would disagree with the comment "this sucks," but just because some talentless weaboos can only draw anime shouldn't be a reason to discredit such a fantastic artform as anime. Sure, it has its roots in being cost effective, hence some shows/movies sporting limited animation, but can you look a person straight in the eyes and discredit the likes of Satoshi Kon or Hayao Miyazaki?
@mysticknightskeale Also, to answer your question: it continued in France and Japan in different, but equally well animated styles, and is just now coming back to America...though Disney kinda dropped the ball on releasing Winnie the Pooh, what with the barely passable marketing and releasing it on the SAME DAY AS THE LAST HARRY POTTER. Big mistake.
I think it looks good - people saying this sucks must either be very good animators themselves (which still don't give you the right to be downright cruel) or have a personal vengeance against the guy who did this - or, like InkLingstudio wrote, be anime fans
Doppler was one of the best characters in that AWESOME film!
OMG!!! who DOESN'T think Delbert Doppler is the best charachter ever!!! He's the best character in the whole movie, and he's not even on the cover.... :(
But awesome video...how DOES that Pablos guy do it?

Just experiment and see what you like best. There are several kinds of col-erase pencils out there, as well as the traditional HB pencil.

Yeah, this is a hell of a lot better than a couple shows I've seen. Pablos makes his character move to fluently.

Man is that an ugly design. Too bad it can't let the halfway decent animation seem better.
