  • Mr flaws, these are the two corresponding statements

Your version #1"If he persists in what he has said, one who will have no mercy on him will be sent against him. He is the Strong in Punishment."

Kitab-i-Aqdas #2If, however, he persisteth in his error, God will, assuredly, send down one who will deal mercilessly with him. Terrible, indeed, is God in punishing!

I think they both get across the same idea.

  • Dear friend, your views are misrepresenting the Baha'i Faith. Baha'is are not pacivists. It specifically says in the Baha'i writings that Baha'is are allowed to defend themselves. Also, the Baha'i Faith forbids homosexuality. The writings say that whilst we must show forebearance towards homosexuals, nevertheless homosexuality is a handicap that is not condoned and should be healed through therapy. In future, please read the writings before writing such comments.

  • "O followers of the Son! We have once again sent John unto you, and He, verily, hath cried out in the wilderness of the Bayán: O peoples of the world! Cleanse your eyes! The Day whereon ye can behold the Promised One and attain unto Him hath drawn nigh! O followers of the Gospel! Prepare the way! The Day of the advent of the Glorious Lord is at hand! Make ready to enter the Kingdom."

    ~Baha'u'llah

    ~Baha'u'llah

  • Every receptive soul who hath in this Day inhaled the fragrance of His garment and hath, with a pure heart, set his face towards the all-glorious Horizon is reckoned among the people of Baha in the Crimson Book. Grasp ye, in My Name, the chalice of My loving-kindness, drink then your fill in My glorious and wondrous remembrance.

  • A typical line from the "Book of Laws" by the Baha'i founder:

"If he persists in what he has said, one who will have no mercy on him will be sent against him. He is the Strong in Punishment."

This is from the Elder-Miller translation. These are two orientalists and Arabic scholars of Oxford, England. One of them spent many years in Persia and was around the early Baha'is for their research. They had no agenda in translating and translated straight-forwardly, not trying to pretty it up.

  • "The Baha'i writings are not Calvinistic and do not focus on punishment and sin."

On the contrary. I have been reading your "Book of Laws" tonight. "Calvinistic" is a great term to describe them, but it's way beyond that. Baha'u'llah's attitude is highly authoritarian, angry, and typically Islamic. "Whoever burns a house intentionally, burn him." Lots of "Beware lest..." and warnings about causing the "displeasure" God (or B-u-L).

Sin? It's all over the Aqdas. "Avoid every vile sinner"

  • What I can get from the Baha'i Writings is that there is to be no stoning to death for adultery or any like crime. If you must do something the couple can be fined and the fine can be continuously raised. But it is also left to the Universal House of Justice to decide what exactly the punishment will be for sins of the flesh. And currently in the United States you can loose your voting rights if you make it a community problem. The focus is not on punishment but being spiritual.

  • The Baha'i writings are not Calvinistic and do not focus on punishment and sin. They provide guidance and focus on what you need to do to grow spiritually and not so much on what you should not do. Lead a chaste and holy life does not include a detailed list of unchaste acts and does not focus on the social consequences if you don't. Unless an act is specifically harmful, the individual is left to deal with it. Individuals are not shunned, they just can't take part in running the community.

  • If one closely looks at much of the Baha'is Holy writings are written in the forms of letters to specific individuals living at the time. Individuals would come to Baha'u'llah and Abdul-Baha with heart felt spiritual questions and they would answer them. Letters were also written to world leaders concerning real spiritual problems. They gave spiritual guidance to all who asked for it.

  • When an individual who was homosexual asked Ab dul Baha about his sexual life he was not condemned. He was just told that he was in the same position as an unmarried heterosexual in that he had to remain chaste and that he told him to seek spiritual guidance in the writings. Currently heterosexuals who do not follow Baha'i marriage laws loose their voting writes until they correct the matter and this probably would be true for homosexuals, also. But I cannot speak for the House of Justice

  • In regards to calling the law regarding married couples traveling together and differences come between them. These laws provide for the woman's safe travel home which is necessary women's social position and lively hood are completely dominated by the male and the woman has little or no control over the finances. Therefore the male cannot just dump the woman by the side of the road and abandon her there. I am sure in the United States the women would kick him in the privates then go home.

  • Please read the article below as posted by Hacklerherr from the bottom up. This is the end of the posting.

  • Modern technology is being used to codify and all of the scriptural writings so that when the Universal House of Justice has to legislate in can consult all of the Holy Writings in makings its decision and future Houses of Justice can make changes in legislatable laws as necessary for its period in time.

  • In the Baha'i Faith there are spiritual laws which no one but God can change, and their are social laws which the Spiritual Assemblies can legislate on within the boundaries of all of the Baha'i Faith's divine scripture.

  • Regarding the crimes of arson and murder the Kitab-i-Aqdas recommends harsh punishment, but it says that if the legal community wishes to sentence the criminals to life imprisonment that is acceptable also. Therefore the Universal House of Justice is free to determine alternative punishments for these crimes.

  • In the Baha'i Faith each and every believer and the general public has access to the history and spiritual writings. Each individual has the spiritual responsibility to study the laws and the consequences trying to live according to these laws as best as they know how. The community involves itself in the individual's behavior only when necessary and does it lovingly.

  • It did not mention that the regiment that shot him all died in an earthquake when a wall collapsed killing every one of them, the regiment was also Muslim where the first regiment was christen .

  • Not an insult, just a fact.

The 2001 edition,(the World Christian Encyclopedia,) successor to his(David B. Barrett) 1983 first edition, which took a decade to compile, identifies 10,000 distinct religions in the world, of which 150 have 1 million or more followers. Within Christianity, he counts 33,830 denominations.

  • Beautiful!

  • ‘Our Lord is God,’ and who go straight to Him, the angels shall descend to them….” The Seven Valleys And the Four Valleys. Bahá’u’lláh

  • ALLAH U ABHA!

The Bab shares much i common witrh Rabbi Yeshua Ha Mashiakh(Prophet Isa) and other Messengers of the Past.

    Peace.

  • i thought u were one of those types of people... after reading what u have to offer in terms of a peaceful world, have a good day.

  • relax. i think ur relying too much on the writings of man.

  • I'm sure it presents no problem. Moses commited no sin. It is common knowedge that what God puts onto His Messengers, or whom you may address as Manifestations, is of pure light and of Divine conduct.

    Peace.

  • When Moses saw an Egyptian mistreating a Hebrew, he became upset with the Egyptian and killed him. The account can be found in the Old Testament in the 2nd chapter of the Book of Exodus. This incident is also mentioned in the Qur'an.

    Peace.

  • This is beautiful, thank you for posting it.

Also, Bahai's are pacifists, are not homophobic or bigots, and our main goal is unity; unity of races, religions and all ppl of earth. A large majority of my best friends are gay, and one of my children is also.

God bless you and, and may He heal your heart of pain.

  • Some of His titles. The Son of man, The Son of Mary The Word, The Son of God, The Only Begotten Son of the Father,The Good Shepherd, The Messiah, The Lamb

Jesus of Nazareth, Jesus the Christ, Jesus the Nazarene Beloved Son, etc. etc.

Seems to me that He was trying to get across the fact that He was not God, the Churches have made that one up, probably trying to be exclusive or something.

The 13th commandment says "Thou shall not murder' God does not allow us do it only the 'churches'

  • If Prophet Muhammad, peace upon him, is bad because he killed people, then so is Moses and so is David, peace upon them. According to Christians, Jesus is God, Jesus is the God of the Old Testament, Christians believe that the OT is the inspired word of God, the OT is authentic to the Christians and they believe the God in the OT is Jesus. So since Jesus is looked at as the God of the OT by Christians, we shall now look at the God of the OT ordering the KILLINGS of many people. What's your side?

  • Who, or what did Jesus say He was?

  • He said he was the Son of Man. May Allah forgive me.

  • Jesus died for the "sins and iniquities" of Man - Gleanings of Baha'u'llah 36

And if you want to see how the Baha'i Faith understands the Trinity, because we do have an understanding of it, just look at Abdu'l-Baha's writings. Jesus is lord and savior. We don't deny Jesus is the Christ, because Jesus is the Christ.

  • There is no 'the' in front of antichrist. maybe someone added it.

  • folks as long as religion does not become state i respect them all, but once it takes over then there will be no room to respect it.

  • rich, you are geniues , prove 1 is equal to 3 please illuminate me

  • Have read the arguments for and against the Baha'i Faith, have read the Baha'i writings, will stick with the Faith. It makes sense of all the arguments.

  • Those who convert to Bahai after reading its writings are either bigots or missed the homophobic bigotry that religions have always imposed on the world. A hateful bigotry which the civilized (secular humanist) world is now finally growing out of, but Bahai perpetuates:

    Behold Bahai preachments on homosexuality:

An "Immorality", "condemned in Baha'u'llah's writings ", "not a permissible way of life", An aberration subject to treatment."

  • God has His opinion, you have yours, its called free will

  • Not only do you know that your god has opinions, you also know he's a he. Never ceases to amaze what all the religious know about the unknowable. At least you think it's only an opinion your god holds. That's progress. Most believers think their gods hold the absolute infallible truth.

  • Maybe She's black and maybe truth is relative to us and infallible for Her

  • @waiotahi52 Please make sense of the Baha'i laws directly from the kitab-i-aqdas that i put in my video: some Baha'i writings. Here is one, and isn't it sexist:

-if the wife accompany her husband on a journey, and differences arise between them on the way, he is required to provide her with her expenses for one whole year, and either to return her whence she came or to entrust her, together with the necessaries for her journey, to a dependable person who is to escort her home.-69-Baha'u'llah

  • @MillerGenuineCraft No it isn't

  • @waiotahi52 You are saying it isn't sexist? Clearly the wife is assumed to be dependent on the man, and in need of an escort.

  • @MillerGenuineCraft Here is a simple little excersise for you. Check out acts of violence, including rapes murders beatings disfigurements etc. against men by women at any stage of any countries history, then do the same for the same acts of violence by men against women.

Are you thinking of taking a trip with your wife and leaving her somewhere?

  • The Prophets of God does not condem but corrects what was and is presently wrong..He has the authority . What they say is absolute truth..They are from God..who are we? prophets too?

  • How beautiful and mysterious is Lord's Guidance for the human beings! Praised be GOD the Glorious, the Most High, the Magnificent!

    God is Glory!

    God is Glory!

    God is Glory!

  • Mr Richbee, why do you hate the Baha'i faith? What have the Baha'i done for you to say such things against them?

  • Mr.Richbee..if you cannot contribute love of mankind with the belief that we are all children of God..and God is most merciful and forgiving.. pse dont say or comment anything otherwise on this video..you are not welcome. This platform is about friendship and love for all the people of the earth irrespective of their beliefs..and nothing else..

  • @balansarawak Sorry but you should know that Baha'u'llah himself clearly wrote sexist, violent, and fanatic laws. I made a video of several of them: Some Baha'i Writings. If you are anyone can bravely explain their benefit and how they are from a great, merciful god, please do. PEACE

-Should anyone intentionally destroy a house by fire, him also shall ye burn; should anyone deliberately take another’s life, him also shall ye put to death. -BAHA'U'LLAH

  • i am muslim.

In these topics has several lies on islam and mohammad, I am most here for combat them.

    Part 1 :

1-Mohammad never killed , robbed , raped, to the thwart : I was 100% pacify in a tribal and violent region. There is not any writing islamic that mentions that he was violent , neither no historical discovery . Is everything midia lie for the USA can rob the east-mediate petroleum .

  • If there not violent why are they right now going killing 7 inasint people for no reason?

By now there is 32,700 bahais killed, if theres no violents explain why they killed them then.

Im not saying muslim is bad i am saying why are they killing bahais

  • have you read the Holy Qur'an? There are many verses which speak of waging war against the infidels. You might want to research history, although I do believe Islam is 100% from God, Muhammad was involved in numerous military battles and so were His companions and some of His family.

    Peace

  • I dont know about richbee2b's relligion or which of the 7000+ christian deno he comes from..but one thing my relligion teaches me that if one belittles another's Faith it is as if he is belittling his own Faith

  • @balansarawak Eh "or which of the 7000+ christian deno" thats an insult to the christian faith is it not, yet its followed by "if one belittles another's Faith it is as if he is belittling his own Faith"

  • @YamaKazoo Sorry mate..I sincerely apologise...I will not do it again...thanks

  • @balansarawak no worries

  • Richbee2b the world is divided because of people that think like you about others belief. Our faith unites people it does not divide or take sides. We are trying to bring peace. Take a look at Israel and Palestine now. They hate each other. They will never stop killing unless they see that they are both from GOD. Our faith teaches that all the religions is one and progressive. You teach hate as we can see from your comments!

  • Richbee2b..Please think about it..what you commenting is exactly the same things said by some of the Moses followers who did not except our Beloved Jesus Christ..

  • RIchbee2b I am just giving you a message that was given to us. It is obvious that you are not listening you have made your mind up. There is nothing I can say that will open your heart, because you have ears that do not ear and eyes that can not see! I am not going to argue with you, especially about the same issue over and over. We do not argue about religion! GOD BLESS

  • Mashallah Mashallah and Mashallah agaim, it makes me want to cry...

  • We should consider that in Revelations(19:19-21) it is indicated that the Return of Christ will be fought against in battle, persecuted and attacked, i.e., further sacrifice will be necessary.

  • I think it is interesting to consider this quote:

"But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.

    (King James Bible, 2 Peter)

It is evident that the Bab and Baha'u'llah did not deny the Master, has not suffered swift destruction, or shown licentiousness or greed and therefore can't be a false prophet.

  • richbee2n Baha'u'llah gained nothing he only praised God! HE gave up is all to be with the poor! The only thing he gained was persecution, and banishment from land to land! May God Bless Baha'u'llah!

  • Azalís believed that the man yuzhiruhu Allāh would not come but up to the time of al-Mustagháth, but this is a mistake. In the Bayan-i-Farsi, the Blessed Bab begs God in order that man yuzhiruhu Allāh avenges before the time of al-Mustagháth.

Denis MacEoin, an orientalist ex-Bahai who sustains great part of his work in Azali sources also corroborates this opinion.

If you have more doubts you can write to me.

  • Alhamdulillah! Glory be to the All Wise, The most Merciful for fulfilling Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) promise for the Mahdi. "God doeth whatsoever He willeth, and ordaineth whatsoever He pleaseth"

    Allah'u'Abha

  • We all should respect all religion's
