Caprice Sequencial TailLights

Do they only work properly in pairs? I hooked up just the passenger side and it doesnt work. Does the drivers side need to be hooked up as well, in order for it to sequence or is there something wrong?

most LEDs dont even draw enough current to allow the blinker relay thing to work.... I like this though...

if you changed all of your back bulbs to LEDs that would look even tighter
