it was wonderfully refreshing to see the parents being so supportive, the grandma was positively delightful and the ending simultaneously breaks and mends my heart. Having read the story before seeing the film it's a pretty accurate interpretation i find... such a wonderful commentary on the tolerance and progress that still needs to be made... it's stories like this that help us believe that there's hope :)

My first message on here was of the highest regards. I thought the film was well made, the actors, the script, wardrobe, set and cinematography, were great as well. It wasn't until after my 1st post did I get in many heated debates with the closed minded individuals.

I love the hypocrisy here. Why is it taboo for men yet not for women. Personally, there is nothing wrong with being gay it is natural and has been around since the beginning of time and you can NOT change it. Prejudice is never ok.

This country was based on Christian values, the vast majority STILL believes in them but won't admit it due to militant backlash from GLAAD and the like). So go be gay and be happy, but don't make the 80% of this country that doesn't care for it have you flaunt it in our faces. Go about your life with quiet dignity. Honestly after watching a movie that made me feel warm and fuzzy inside then to read countless comments condemning these people to hell calling them fags and other derogitory things makes me simply embarrised to be a part of the human race! I thought this was the 20th fu÷=ing century. If all these closed minded people are going to heaven well I'd rather go to hell because it's right here on earth!

Ginger, I think you will find it impossible to find any group of people, even one person, who has not wronged someone by action or inaction. There are Christians who have lived nobly and sacrificially in their lives as well, though you may not happen to know any, and even these people had their own faults. No one is completely good, nor is anyone beyond saving. All this, in my mind, only evidences why we need Christ as savior. Hope this makes sense to you somehow.

I think the choice we makes is to be honest with ourselves instead of living a lie and fighting our feelings everyday for the rest of our lives. Being gay is natural, and you see it in nature all the time. I've heard people say "Just stop being gay" and I'm think. "I wanna see you try to 'stop' being straight. PART 1. I am a guy who has concidered himself gay at one point or another throughout his lifetime. I'll probably be the most honest in what I'm about to say too: I question it constantly. I know for a fact that no one chooses to be gay. We are not given options like in a candy store (the RED or GREEN sucker). We, like all people, may choose to have the intercoarse, but definately not the orientation. I know for a fact it is not a pschological disorder and if I ever decided to be with a woman..
