I don't think Karl really enjoyed this interview for a variety of reasons. Karl hates the word luxury which the interviewer used several times.The backdrop and even the cheap office chairs he was forced to sit on were way below what he is used to. Couldn't they find something more tasteful? The interviewer was uninformed at best & his questions aside from being naive and unoriginal, were filled with cliches of his own generation.

Does he realize that everyone is laughing behind his back and treat him like a special needs kid? He is an interesting man, but his views on life and our world is so outdated and banal. He can try as hard as he can, but he is still an 80- year old guy who often times sound listless, bitter, materialistic and shallow.

Are his accomplishments good enough of an excuse to sound this superficial? I am not sure. He sounds somewhat more perceptive in this interview though, than his usual 'flair'.

I watched Lagerfeld Confidential and own its DVD. He comes off as quite self-important and self-indulgent. I do not hate him, and it is admirable how active and knowledgeable/cultured he is. But still, even when he says 'I am nothing, I just exist ', it is him tooting his own horn and acting like a narcissistic jerk.

He is just a fashion designer. People need to wake the f- up and realize these people are not saving lives. I prefer Marc Jacobs's easy-going and humble composure.

I am not talking about his so-called accomplishments as a designer when I talk about his self-indulgence. He does have excellent taste in many areas including art, music and interior design.

Moreover, I did not say he is outdated or banal. I said his views on life were. There is a big difference between the two.

He is still running Chanel and Fendi successfully, how could he be outdated as a designer?

There is an economist called Steven Chueng.

He said copies help the brand to promote its products and once the people get rich, they would buy the real one, and that people will not expect the copy as the one with quality- luxury is exclusive because of its unique quality.
